Hunter's comment

Exo Skin is the fruit of the MIT university researchers who have developed this material which can change shapes.

It can be used for many purposes like it can be used as mobile cover so when cellphone falls that material can protect it from damages.

Membrane-backed rigid materials have the potential to become a broader, more versatile platform for introducing texture change and sensing into a variety of other products as well.

Incredible hunt Mr @aamirijaz. This is indeed EPIC and extreme and intelligently usage of technology. Changes in shapes with this material is really unbelievable. You rightly said we can use it in various places to save our valuable stuff:

ExoSkin - Inelastic Materials that can change shapes.

Perfect search for today's hunt. It must be a win. keep sharing more stuff like that. All the best!

Simply amazing especially when you think of different areas through which it can be applied. Would be interesting to see in the nearest future. I am very sure great inventions based on this exoskin are coming up. Good one!

What an amazing technology, i just watched the complete video about it, there are many places this technology can be used to provide ease and comfort to humans, The material is so soft that it can change it shape easily.

I wasn't aware of such material which can change its shape like its shown in the video. It will help many cases one of them as you mentioned it can be used for the cell phone covers. By the was, that mouse control shown in the video is very cool to use.

This is an amazing development in material & surfaces. Great hunt!

Of the use-cases put forward by the video, I think the mobile phone cover is the least inspiring.

The tread changing on tyres is much more interesting, and will/would create much more impact. If you had a road car, with "standard tread" tyres, which could change depending on the surface, that would be astonishing. Instant snow tyres - or off-road tyres for mud, or the desert/sand. Even subtle changes for motorway/highway driving in the rain - to cut down on aqua-planing.

There are just so many potential use-cases for surface/material tech like this - you could easily write a 10,000 word post on the possibilities (and still not come close to exhausting all the ideas).

Truly remarkable tech, with massive potential.

Wao...Shape changing materials...That is indeed cutting edge!!!
This is going to have vast civil and military applications.
Reminded me of the movie Terminator Genisys...

Very impressive new technology that provides materials with the ability to change there shape. Like in the Video explained this could be used for tires, smartphone bumpers or shoes.
MIT is one of the leading scientific research centers in the world and many of there findings also make it into the real world. That said doesn't mean that we will see this kind of material soon but there is a great possibility that some companies like car manufacturer will likely look into this.
Thanks for sharing this project, good Hunt!

If this material can be implemented to shirt, shoes, car, laptop in the future, it will be awesome. I think combination of exo skin + other protection like flameproof will be a gamechanger.

This is cool. An elastic material that could change shapes. I like the use cases shown in the video such as the sole of a soccer shoe and the tires of a car. Although these are just ideas of what's possible, this product is a step towards this.
