What do you do in the crypto universe?

I am a singer-songwriter and the creator of the first artist crypto currency Tatiana Coin which will be relaunched with far more features in January.   I also am the founder of Crypto Media Hub, which is a PR, Advertising, and Marketing agency in the Bitcoin space.

Why do you do it?

All the work that I do has a greater goal of helping humanity, so it's a wonderful feeling to be able to be a part of the crypto community.  It has more solutions than any political one, so it's really encouraging.

How did you discover Bitcoin?

I first learned about Bitcoin from Tony Gallippi and Stephen Pair from Bitpay in August 2012, but I didn't really get it till Jeffrey Tucker painted a vision of what the world would be like with cryptocurrencies.

What fascinates you about it?

I love how it achieves similar political goals as I had when supporting Ron Paul, but without the difficulty and division that comes from talking about politics.  It can show rather than tell the potential of mankind.

How did you get into Steem? What is your opinion on Steem and Steemit?

I first learned about Steemit from Ned, and was excited to try it out.  I have been terribly frustrated by traditional social media sites, so this kind of innovation to me is an important step forward.  I don't know what the future will bring, but I am happy to be a part of it early on!

What was your impression of SteemFest Amsterdam?

I was so impressed!  Roeland and the team did an incredible job, and you can't beat Amsterdam! I couldn't believe what a wonderful city it was, and as someone who has traveled quite extensively, it may actually now be in the top 5 cities in the world in my experience.  I also was surprised at all the development on the platform.

One of the less attractive parts of Steemit is lack of a single project created standards and operations.  Seeing how the community is taking things on to make improvements, and how it seems some dev resources are being filtered to them made me feel far more confident in the future.  Also, it goes without saying (but I will say it anyway) that the people making up Steemit are the real stars!  There was so much diversity, and even though it sounds cheesy, there was a lot of love around, you know?

How do you see the relation of Steem and Bitcoin? Will Steem replace Bitcoin one day?

I don't think Steem will replace Bitcoin, though I am not the most technically inclined person.  I can't help but be a Bitcoin girl at heart.  However, there is a lot of room for other players, and this complementary competition makes the ecosystem of crypto currencies in general more robust.  Also, it takes all kinds of things to win people over.  Some people need Bitcoin for remittances, some people are content creators that want to socialize.  The more the merrier is my thought.

How do you perceive the Bitcoin and Steemit communities in the USA and in Europe? What is similar, what is different?

I don't really have a good sense of the locations of the Steemit communities.  I would say that internationally, Bitcoin seems to inspire an even greater community because in the US, we have a pretty decent banking system, but that's not the case abroad.  I was just in Buenos Aires for the Latin American Bitcoin Conference which is one of my absolute favorites every year.  People ask why, and I always answer it's because of the people.  I think the same is true of the Steem.

Where will Bitcoin and Steem stand one year from now?

I think there is a lot of opportunity to grow for both.  As the world begins to wake up to the corruption and propaganda, people will be seeking external systems to opt out.  I look forward to welcoming them! mit community- there's a familial sense about it.

What are your next projects?

I have a new album coming out in early 2017, which I am really excited about.  We originally launched Tatiana Coin in 2014, but there were so many limitations then from a tech perspective.  What has resulted is Tokenly, which has created a lot of solutions to problems I didn't even know we would face.  No one tells you how hard this kind of thing can be!  I am really pleased with the results, and am excited that other artists can finally make their own coins in an easy way.

I also am happy that I took a drawing that Ross Ulbricht did of me and am using it on the cover.  This type of thing really gets to the heart of why artist coins are needed.  If I had a record label supporting me, I wouldn't be able to speak so freely about my support of a political prisoner, it's just the way the music business is.

However, our world needs to free the art now more than ever!  There are so many stories and issues that need to be communicated to people to have us grow more compassionate and evolve into a better era.  Without artists being able to do that, I don't know how easy it will be to get to the next level.  Besides, cryptocurrencies are fun!

Thank you so much, Tatiana! Looking forward to your performance at BXB!
