Is Global Warming Real !!
So lets talk about those things in life that most of us take for granted but are actually really really REALLY special. Like what? 💧💦 Water.
Cape Town is on the verge of running out of water. Day Zero is approximated to arrive start of April/end of March. The whole city is getting anxious as there hasn't been rainfall in months or years, and the government has failed to come with technological solutions.
This day is gonna happen. The first big city in the world to run out of water.
We already notice it in the supermarket: all water is sold out, and whenever it's restocked, it's gone within a few hours. We notice it on the beach: people washing themselves and their clothes in the sea. We notice it in public toilets, everybody silently agreed to just not flush the toilet anymore (only when there's poo 💩). And of course we notice it because we try to save water, as much as we can.
What that looks like?
We put the plug in the tub of our bath when we shower (max 2 minutes) the water that we catch we use to do our laundry & then we use that wastewater to flush the toilet using a bucket. Currently we're using under 30 liters of water a day. That seems a little, but in the coming months waterusage has to go down even more.
In most Countries for e.g, my own Country In Pakistan people use a LOT of water, most of the time we dont even think about how vitally important this liquid is. And how amazingly special that it just comes from the tap, in an endless supply.
So while you're using water today, maybe think about Cape Town and it's inhabitants. Be grateful for what you've got. And pray that this drought will not get as bad as predicted 🙏🏼.
