CLOUDS EXPERIMENT_ a failed aquarelle
Hi fellows steemians,
You know from my previous posts that I like to share with you not only my best works.
Learning from mistakes makes you stronger, more disciplined, and more motivated.
This is a failed watercolour.
And this is happening when you mix to many colors in order to obtain a realistic spectacular sunset.
Using the cold yellow tone was the last wrong choice.
Conclusion:
- Use a good reference,
- Make a value study first,
- Pre-mixing your starting watercolor colors -mix enough diluted pigments before starting wet-in-wet sky scene because time is important in this technique,
- Use the right size of watercolours brushes.
Wow spectacular
Thanks! ;-)
I also have such unsuccessful paintings a lot :)
That's the process of creation! ;)
yes! :)
@aci7, don't be so hard on yourself :) It's not always easy to find a right measure of everything in watercolor, and yellow color can be tricky sometimes. I started using some Van Gogh flesh tint, it's much lighter and can be used mixed with some yellow tones. Love the upper left part of the sky a lot :)
I'm not, don't worry! ;) Yes, yellow is so tricky, controling water and pigments as well but such a joy! Thanks for the tip!
Sorry but It's a too nice to be called a failed watercolor.
It's not so bad in the end. :) Thank you!
I see something beautiful there, even if you think you've failed.
Appreciate you sharing this.
Looking for beauty everywhere is a great skill. I appreciate your words too! :)
