On a more personal note

Hello to all my dear followers and other Steemit readers and active Curators!

From tomorrow on I will be officially unemployed.

I noticed that my dead-end job wasn't really getting me anywhere, not financially because it was a part-time job and my student loans were not decreasing any time soon. But also it was just tiring and combined with other daily activities and my interests lately to dig deeper into cryptocurrencies it felt like I was just wasting time and not getting anywhere.

I decided to save up 5 months ago when I started on Steemit and even though I have powered up a big amount of my 50% payouts on Steemit, the amount that I had saved up was in Eth, BTS, Lisk, Digix, Waves, BTC and Jewels ended up being enough to cover the next 3 months of rent and utilities. (should've had a bigger stake of it in BTC than the others considering the short-term I was aiming for). The heavy taxation also reduced the profit greatly.

Now my plans for the upcoming months are to work on my online persona, both here on Steemit but also on other social platforms like Twitter: oAcido, Reddit: acidyo, Bitcointalk: acidx and Youtube: acid-yo. I am proud to say that Steemit has my biggest following of them all combined and it feels great considering I have been waiting for decentralized social medias ever since I was active on Reddit.

Tomorrow I will spend some time fine-tuning my Social Media accounts with some new pictures and images and becoming active on all of them, with the primary goal to be to collect many more followers that get to know about the block-chain technology and how its innovation is awaiting them.

I think this is the most important aspect of it all, and one of the biggest step towards mainstreem adoption. I have for the last months now been voting 4-5 times more than the average curators to awake awareness and give everyone deserving an opportunity for their content to be easier visible for the Steemit readers. Now I want to put it into even more use for newcomers and at the same time grow my social platforms around it all.

If everything goes well, and some of it hangs on Steemits future and success, I will be able to maintain this as my full-time job and not be required to look for another "work for the man" job in the future.

Who knows what the Internet of Things has in its stores for us, and how big of a market cap cryptocurrencies will reach in the near future, combine it with the Attention Economy that Steemit will be a big part of - I am hopeful about it and want to start saving up my assets in these promising new cryptocurrencies - thus reactivating my @cryptochannel account and adding some extra details to the investments and trades and also making it a community thing because I think many more users should do the same. Not like I have the last past 5 months where at the end of the day (or the year to be specific) I will have spent all my savings I had and be left with the majority on Steemit thanks to its divesting periods.

A new day awaits tomorrow and I am looking forward to be able to spend more time around Steemit and my other social platforms. Most importantly to connect even more with my followers and newcomers.

Who knows, maybe there might be a new but old witness popping up soon with some new projects already planned for a long period and ready to be announced. ;)

Thanks for reading! Have a good week everyone!

I am heavily invested here too. I am currently making enough to cover rent and all bills here on Steemit, though I don't withdraw any of my Steem. I had retired 3 years ago and was living on my saved bitcoins - but now I see my balances going upward. A little encouragement from me to you
It is possible! I juat followed you to help out.

That was a really good bit of encouragement there for sure!! Thumbs up and I am going to follow you now!

Thanks for the encouragement and follow! Appreciate it!

Yeah, I haven't thankfully powered down anything yet neither (only one week I think in total) but unfortunately haven't been able to keep any savings in neither btc or anything else for a longer period than 2-3 months.

Hoping to be able to change that in the coming future while still being able to make it on a monthly basis by the steemit posting rewards. While at the same time helping the platform I am invested in grow.

Congratulations on your unemployment! I'm rooting for you all the way, because I dream of being able to do something similar but am not in a secure enough position to allow for it yet. Like you, I'm spending a lot of time building up my portfolio of cryptocurrencies hoping it will turn into a nice way of supporting myself & my family. So will be very interested to hear how this works out for you.

Best of luck to you. Have fun with this new phase of your life, and Steem on!

I am looking forward to seeing your content! If you need any tips regarding social media, feel free to Tweet me @RandyHilarski

Thank you very much! I followed you back on Twitter :)

Good luck man, with you every step of the way. If you can get out of the rat race and still have enough cash to live reasonably then abso-f*cking-lutely!!

Wishing you all the very best of luck over the next few months.

You should try LinkedIn as well, there are a few excellent Bitcoin groups there.

Wishing you every success, from another active Steemit curator! I think Steemit has a wonderful future ahead and we'll all enjoy our time here, working on the same team for the common goal of making Steemit a great place to be!
