Steem Fantasy Premier League - Gameweek 2 Overview
It seems like you’ve got a writer this year who doesn’t have a clue about what he’s talking (writing) about. After two gameweeks my steem picks have scored a total of 1!!! point. Yes it’s true, and yes I know, I should definitely stop doing “steem picks” because I have to be the worst predictor ever. I just have to hope you don’t read or at least don’t follow my steem pick predictions. After King’s 2 point score in the gameweek 1 my gameweek 2 pick Vardy followed it up with a -1 point this week. Vardy was shown a straight red card for a hefty challenge on a Wolves player 20 minutes into second half and will now miss two matches in the league (one EFL Cup tie). As it wasn’t enough he really didn’t impress before that either with 0 goal attempts.
What did we learn from gameweek 2:
3 goals, 1 assist and 20 points, his name is Sergio Aguero (11.0m). Hopefully you captained him like 18% of all fpl players.
City had one of those games when they could have scored ten goals. And on the other side Huddersfield is a really poor team at the moment. I can’t see them play in PL next season. Mendy (6.2m) looked as unstoppable as last weekend and instead of his 2 assists he could have had 3 or 4. His strong performances has been noticed by fpl players and over 330 000 players have already transferred him in after the game.
Kane (12.5m) scores in August. Kane has now managed 8 points in two matches and with a tough trip to Manchester United up next for Spurs I’m not jumping on the Kane-train just yet.
Cardiffś goalkeeper Etheridge (4.5m) made his second penalty save in as many matches. Etheridge is now by far the highest scoring goalkeeper with is 22 points after two gameweeks.
Alonso (who many thought wouldn’t justify his 6.5m price tag playing as left back in four-man backline) looks more and more like a must have. With his goal + assist in Chelsea’s 3-2 win over Arsenal he is now the overall top scorer after gameweek 2 with his 24 points. With Chelsea’s good run of fixtures he will for sure be one of the most transferred in players this week.
I don’t know about United. 3-2 loss away against Brighton. Lukaku (11.0m) and Pogba (8.1m) got on the scoresheet. The overall display from Man Utd were alarmingly weak. You could say one thing or another about Mourinho but the players should take a look in the mirror themselves. For example Martial. Many can’t understand why he hasn’t played under Mourinho but if you, when you got your chance, in a Manchester united shirt, don’t run more than 3.9 km in first half as a left winger when your team is playing shit you shouldn’t even be on the bench. The ex-England, Bolton, Newcastle, Blackburn, West Ham, Sunderland, Crystal Palace and Everton manager “Big” Sam Allardyce was straight forward after the game when he said: “Martial is not good enough for Manchester United”. Maybe there’s some truth in his words. I just think the squad, as a whole, isn’t good enough for Manchester United.
Liverpool got their second clean sheet in a row against Crystal Palace in their 2-0 away win and Mané outscored Salah again. The debate whether Salah is worth the money will continue but with a home game against Brighton coming up next it definitely doesn’t feel good being a non-Salah owner. I can see him score big in that game.

Would be cool if you took a screenshot of the league table when using the BetterFPL Chrome extension (wrote about some of its features here) as it shows some important information like who captained who, which would be nice to see.
Also: top 5, let's go!
Better gameweek for me, Salah and Richarlison delivering as expected, 1 out of 3 clean sheets wbut Tarkowski scored and Agüero as captain.
There is a lot of deadweight in my team however.. so it's wildcard time!
Goodbye Lacazette King, Lössl and Jota!
Shit happens, I'm sure you'll do better with the upcoming ones:) Good luck and congrats winner!
Hello @acidyo, and nice to Steem you! :-)
Well, you may not have chosen the best picks lately, but what you're not lacking of is sports-reporting and writing talent! I've always considered the football dedicated newspapers articles to be the spiciest and most colourful of those entire media publications, and you're confirming it.
Kudos for your work!
Seems like City is taking the league, and Liverppool will be behind him. Early days yet. Mendy is really stepping up, with Sarri also doing well.
Thank you
Good article

Just as I thanked you for the La Liga overview, I also wana thank you for this as well. My Day job just wouldn't let me follow up on a whole lot of things anymore but with this I could get a head start.
Are you going to transfer vardy out of your squad?
Hi @acidyo! We are @steem-ua, a new Steem dApp, computing UserAuthority for all accounts on Steem. We are currently in test modus upvoting quality contributions with a high UA value! Nice work!
