Steem Fantasy Premier League - Gameweek 21 Overview

in #steem6 years ago (edited)

The title race ain’t over. Manchester City did what they had to, and took a really important victory against league leaders Liverpool. Man City won 2-1, but I can still see people (mostly Liverpool fans) questioning if Liverpool’s disallowed 1-0 goal, denied by goal-line technology, did cross the goal line. City are now 4 points behind Liverpool in second place while Spurs sits third, 7 points behind Liverpool. After 21 out of 38 games the league table looks as follow:

Following the Gameweek 20 trip to Southampton Leroy Sané and Raheem Sterling were sold by 360,000+ FPL managers. These managers were for sure frustrated by these two players displays against Liverpool, Sané scoring 10 and Sterling 5 points. With Wolves (home), Huddersfield (away) and Newcastle (away) their next three matches,FPL managers will for sure look to get some City cover in their teams. I gw 21 Popular players like Pogba and Hazard both blanked while Spurs assets once again delivered. Both Kane and Son scored and assisted and came out from their 3-0 away win over Cardiff with 12 and 13 points each. Son has been outstanding scoring four double-figure score in his last six matches and could be a season holder if it wasn’t for the Asian Cup. He will be available for the Manchester United clash in Gameweek 22 before departing for the Asian Cup. Owners are surely looking to sell him after gw 22, but he will only miss a maximum of three Premier League fixtures, returning for the home match against Leicester City on February 10 (possibly sooner, if South Korea are eliminated any time before the final). Rashford was another stand-out player in gw 21. He both scored and assisted in Manchester Unitedś fourth consecutive win under Solskjaer. Rashford has got great form and even though Lukaku and Sanchez return to fitness gives Rashford competition in attack, he should play regularly.

Marko Arnautovic announced his return from injury by scoring a brace in West Ham’s 2-2 draw with Brighton. After coming back from a hamstring injury to make his first start since Gameweek 15, the Austrian forward had a big impact against Brighton. No player had more efforts on goal than Arnautovic and it looks like he once again could be the main Fantasy asset to own from West Ham. By contrast Felipe Anderson, owned by about 20%, had just one shot in the box and now has three blanks in his last four matches.

The most entertaining game of the gameweek has to be the six-goal thriller between Bournemouth and Watford. The match ended in a 3-3 draw after all six goal being scored in the first half. Ryan Fraser has been quiet in recent gameweeks, but now reminded Fantasy managers of the value he presents this season as he grabbed a goal and assist against Watford. Among all midfielders in the game he sits fourth, with 109 points scored, and more overall points than players like Sané, Mané and Felipé Anderson.
