Youtube is becoming ridiculous

in #youtube5 years ago

I stumbled upon this tweet today which just makes me sad at the current systems where content creators are being pushed over and if you're not big enough no one will probably care. Sure some may get attention from other platforms now and then when this happens, Reddit is a big platform that sometimes helps with that and as soon as they get a lot of attention their issues are resolved quickly but imagine to all the other thousands of content creators that have problems daily and don't have the reach and are instead faced with having to rely on customer service to fix things for them which in this case doesn't seem to do a lot. Anyway, without getting too much into everything wrong with Youtube, how they mainly just care about adrevenue and big media coming in to take away the time and attention from regular content creators, here's the tweets.

Imagine you create something and another random channel uses it and the automatic copyright claiming system goes in their favor and deletes you original video. This is the case here, as insane as it may sound it is happening pretty often. There's been a lot of cases like these with music that youtubers upload and it gets used without their permission somewhere else and it backfires to deleting their original upload. At the end of the day even when this is fixed the person who took it without asking gets off with a warning after having received a lot of views and potentially put the original uploader in some sort of filter that will work against him in the future.

Great assistance he's receiving on this issue:

Here's a link to the tweet if you guys wanna check it out and maybe recommend him some other platforms instead.

yes, blockchain needs to capture these peoples attention

It is time people start blockchaining every piece of original content to make sure there is a hash reference to their work as the first appearance point online.

Blockchaining. Love the way it rolls of the tongue.

Yeah for sure, I think someday with the reality of deep fakes, the blockchain will prove vital to countering the false videos and narratives they produce. When you can evidence the original post, un-doctored, that’s the way to fight those bad actors.

This development is very crazy. Who has not experienced it myself, it considers impossible that something like this happens.

Propaganda is only getting worse. Everything that doesn't fit the official narrative gets censored.
On the bright side, it helps decentralized apps get more exposure. Let's hope Steemit becomes a number one platform when people migrate away from corporate media.

I'm BOI, the new kid in the Blog Town.
It's pleasure to meet you!

Ridiculousness beyond my comprehension.
On the other side, if Joe makes this loud enough, he might pull a big juicy apologie$ off from this situation.
Especially if he proves this happens because of his gender/race/religion.
But it might make him bend some truths possibly maybe.

I told the guy to not waste his time with youtube and to join @threespeak !

that self-like tho :p

I do that only in witter : http://www.steemreports.com/outgoing-votes-info/?account=clixmoney&days=14

check that in steem and I'm going to 0 self upvote very soon ! @acidyo

Chill, was just joking :p I've actually started self-voting a bit again cause there's a lot of retaliation going on, but I mainly vote on the posts that don't have a lot of rewards and have beneficiaries to sbdpotato or teamocd.

Also, not self-voting when your SP is not that high is not that special, though I appreciate those that don't I'm just saying that if your post rewards are usually 99% other people's votes obviously you're not going to get much out of self-voting.

That could be good as well to shut some mouths. lol I mean no self upvote. lol

Wow, I did not realize Youtube was this ruthless...

Speaking of being overlooked for not being big enough, @acidyo, I've been using the #posh tag, fairly regularly, and not hearing much from @ocd/ @ocdb

Is there something I'm doing wrong?

Nothing wrong, our focus has been a bit low lately but with a new announcement coming up we will surely come back 100% with #posh. We also noticed recently that some posts are not showing on steempeak even with the tag, can't tell if it's cause the tag is late as in 5th or 6th place which makes them not show or what it is. Let us know if your posts are showing in steempeak.com/created/posh

Okay, glad I asked. I do see, at least, my last two posts showing up on steempeak (and I have been adding link to Twitter as you requested in the comments section).

Will try using posh as second tag, maybe, that will help you guys see it easier? I'm about to post in a few minutes :) Looking forward to that new announcement!

Hahahaha this system is trolling us soo fucking hard

And most people don't even realize it when stuff like that ^above happens :D

The elites really laugh their asses off. XD

It's sad, can't help but agree with some comments being like "if you still use youtube nowadays you're kind of asking for it".
