Monochrome for today ~ Lake Toba
I took this trip to Lake Toba together with my family about two years back. I didn't think I'd enjoy it as much as I did.
Lake Toba is a remarkable place - it's a volcanic crater lake that's the largest in the world! Also the largest lake in South-East Asia. And if you can't picture how big that is - imagine this - there is an island in the centre of the lake, the Samosir island, which is the size of Singapore! Almost like a whole country in the middle of the lake... 😯
Anyway, about this photograph - I shot this from the Northern shore of Lake Toba; it was a rainy misty day, and I kinda like this shot as the hills and lake appear merged with the sky at the horizon.
Exactly at this spot, if I turn around 180°, is the magnificent view of the Sipiso Piso waterfall, as seen in this photo:

LOve the tones in the shot wow that sounds an amazing place I know I went to some crater somewhere that claimed to be in the top 10 biggest craters ( since it didn't list a number I assumed it was near the bottom of the 10 and that was huge and amazing so this must be so much more so
Thank you, JJ! :D I experimented and ended with this tone which I thought best suited this place as I experienced it! You sure you didn't go to Lake Toba? ;)
:) no it wasn't there I think it was in Africa somewhere
Ahaaa.... must be another wonderful discovery... :)
Great!
