Battle of the Teranga Lions and the Desert Foxes

The 24 teams that started the competition have been scrubbed down to two as Senegal take on Algeria in the final of the 2019 AFCON edition.

This is a chance for the Lions to lift their first ever continental title and the chance for Algeria to win their second. The Lions will be banking on their star man Liverpool FC’s Sadio Mane to lead them to glory while the Foxes would have to once again depend on Manchester City’s Mahrez to conjure another magic that will hand them the trophy.

Both teams are deserved finalists; they both have scored the most goals in the tournament with Senegal scoring 8 and Algeria firing in the most, 12.
The Teranga Lions needed an extra time magical assist from Sadio Mane to give them a much needed win against Tunisia.

Later that day, saw Algeria and Manchester City’s Mahrez score a stunning injury time free kick to win by 2 goals to 1 against the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

Mane and Mahrez might take majority of the spotlight but they have got a cooperative and resilient team backing them.
