Beetles are my favorite insects when I want to take pictures, because these insects are very friendly to humans and do not have active movements like wasps and bees which are very difficult to take pictures because they are always moving. Beetles are the largest insect species in the world, because almost half of the insects in the world are beetles and they have been identified. This insect has a complete life cycle, because beetles undergo a complete metamorphosis phase like butterflies.

The darkling beetle that was playing on the cockscomb tree was a beetle that I found in my yard. They look similar to ground beetles, and they often hide under rocks or piles of leaves. The darkling beetle belongs to the tenebrionidae family and is the largest species in the insect world. Darkling beetles live worldwide, in both temperate and tropical habitats.
