Witness Update Report #19
Hello there all you awesome Steemians, in our last update report we told you that we were moving our Witness to a different hosting sever due to some technical issues with our previous server. We got in touch with the folks at @privex and they had a server set up for us within a matter of hours. The installation didn't take too long and we were back in business, our witness is running without a hitch and the our price feed is stable, since we went back online we have not missed any blocks. All is well and our current witness rank is 55.
Please take a moment to read our Witness Proposal, and if you support the same fundamentals and vision as we do for the future of the Steemit community, please consider voting for us as witness here.
ADSactly Education :
We have decided that as part of our weekly Witness Report post, we will be choosing different technical topics to discuss.
Please feel free to request a topic in the comment section.
ADSactly Steemit Help - SP Explained
So as a Steemit member there are some things that you need to start paying attention to. If you are somehow not already aware, your vote here on the Steemit platform has value. As your account grows, so grows the value of your vote. As they say, “With great power comes great responsibility”. In all seriousness though, it is very important that you are paying attention and managing the value of your vote here on the platform. When people are first starting out here on Steemit, they often have questions about how things work. One of the most asked questions is in regards to Steem Power (SP) and Voting Power (VP).
Steem Power or SP as most people call it is the amount of influence your account has here on the Steemit platform. As you post and make comments here you receive votes from other users that translate into rewards. These rewards are in the form of Steem and Steem Backed Dollars (SBD). When you have Steem in your account you can convert it to SP by powering it up. This makes your account stronger and gives your votes more influence. This basically means that you will be able to give bigger rewards to the people that you vote for. As your SP increases, the value of your vote increases. It is important to power up your Steem as much as possible so that you can have the ability to give these bigger rewards to content that you feel is worthy of your vote. You can use the SBD that you get in your rewards to purchase more Steem. This can then be powered up as well. When you hear the terms “minnow”, “dolphin” and “whale”, this is in reference to the amount of SP these users have and the level of influence (reward value) their vote has.
Note You are able to power down your SP if you want to. However, it takes 13 weeks for this SP to fully convert back into Steem. The amount of SP you want to power down is split into 13 equal payments and powered down by that amount each week over the 13 weeks. Important to know in case you ever need access to your Steem.
Stay tuned for next week when Voting Power is explained.

Remember to join our Friday Night Live with Adsactly tonight! Our very own @princessmewmew and @broncofan99 are hosting a discussion panel where they will chat about all things Steemit related, focusing especially on minnow issues, curation and community centred projects. We invite you to come on over and introduce yourself and share a post with us, and chat about it, and also to ask any questions you may have! Join them here at 20h00 UTC tonight!
We welcome you to join the society, meet and talk to people, make friends and establish relations with other ADSactly members. You will receive ADSactly community units just for showing up and taking part in our voice hangouts, for helping out with promotions, for helping new members feel welcomed, showing them around and helping them get familiar with the society, for finding new projects that might catch interest of other members. Sometimes even for being generally a good person willing to help others.
