SEC17 WK #1: Forgiveness unites family

Hello, Steem kids and parents. Hope everyone is doing great here? It's another season of the Steemit Engagement Challenge. Congratulations to the community on being selected to host the season 17 among others. It's a delight to partake in the first topic.

In my understanding, forgiveness is the act of letting go of wrongs committed against you. It is forgoing the past and moving on. It is easier to forgive than to forget. You hear people say, forgive and forget. Most of the times the trauma or damage or pain can be unforgettable. Though the offender is forgiven, it may take years or impossible to forget the incidence.
Forgiveness is actually a special attribute, a divine nature from God. It that can be inculcated with patience.

A saying usually says, To err is human, to forgive is divine. Offenses are inevitable. Everywhere we go or find ourselves, people will offend us. However, we must let the divine nature of forgiveness take over from us. Rather than reacting from anger , we can simply forgive. Although some situations may seem difficult to forgive, we must learn to forgive. WHY?. Because forgiveness is not actually for the offender but the offended.

In the family, it is very important we forgive one another. It keeps the family together as one. Children offends their parents, parents offend their children, even when they don't even know of it, siblings offend one another, husband offend his wife, wife offend her husband, cousins offend one another. Anything can cause offense, it doesn't matter the cause, what really matters is forgiving one another in the family each time we are offended. Even if the offender didn't admit his/her wrong, it is needful to forgive and let go, for peace to reign in the home

BENEFITS OF FORGIVENESS

Within the home, it is important to make forgiveness a culture. Train the children to learn to forgive one another easily.

• Forgiveness brings peace to the offended. Pls you are not doing the offender a favour by forgiving, rather you deserve the peace of mind. Cause the offender may not even be affected.
• Forgiveness takes away grudge or malice.
• It brings healings to the wounded heart.
• You feel free from the past. Unforgiveness is a bondage of the heart.
• Sense of tranquility and energy to move on.
• God in heaven forgives us when we forgive others who have wronged us.
• Forgiving each other in the home strengthens

DANGER OF UNFORGIVENESS

• Unforgiveness can bring hatred and separation within the home.
• Locking up someone in one's heart out of unforgiveness brings bitterness and anger.
• Unforgiveness keeps the offended in bondage
• Peace is far from the such home. , even the offended will be troubled meanwhile the offender is not bothered.
• Unforgiveness hinders the family's prayers
• Unforgiveness can open doors for illnesses. Cause the state of mind is important for sound health.
  Moreso, unforgiveness is of the devil. And it can give access to different ill-health.

In conclusion, forgiveness is important in the family. Forgiveness keeps the bond within the family. Parent should teach their children the benefits of forgiveness and let them also know the harm of unforgiveness within the home. Also, parents should demonstrate forgiveness between each other and to their children. Cause children do what they see, and are easily influenced. We teach them as they grow up to say sorry when they offend the other, this way , when they are grown-ups, they find it easy to apologize and also to forgive others.
