Weekly Drawing Contest 34 | Drawing Of your Earrings

in STEEM FOR INDONESIA10 months ago

Hello, Friend.

What are you doing today? I am feeling so excited right now. Just finished all my chores at home. Seeing that I have the entire day for myself, I decided to use the remaining minutes wisely.

Please meet my teddy, Chauncey.

He is my childhood friend and I'd be teaching him how to draw tiny things today. For instance, an earring.

About Earrings

There are different types of earrings in the world. But my favourites are stud earrings. In fact, no other studs but those with minimalistic style like the small, round shaped, golden earrings which we call "dot earrings" in Nigeria. They are also available in silver and designed to sit on the lower part of the earlobe.

These dot earrings are perfect for every occasion. They are light and affordable as well.

Schools usually recommend this earring since it is less distracting and has less chances of causing accidents on the playground.

Let's draw

Before we started, I had to take Chauncey on a treasure hunt. These are what we had on the list:

Treasure hunt - list of items
A blank sheet of paper
A sharpened pencil
Eraser
A stud earring
A motivation toy

We roamed the entire compound and could successfully steal (because that's what it felt more like) a piece of paper from mommy's room, my eldest sister's pencil, eraser and sharpener from the store then one stud earring that has been missing its pair in like two months.

Ready to start!

STEP 1
Sketch a circleIMG_20250403_095051.jpg

We started by sketching a circle at the bottom left of the paper. That will be the round head.

STEP 2
Outline the postIMG_20250403_103155.jpg

Next, we added two parallel lines to outline the post or long peg. This is a thin metal wired frame which is inserted through the earlobe.

Step 3
Draw the butterfly clutchIMG_20250403_104201.jpg

This is the part that holds the earring firm in the earlobe.

Step 4
Adding finishing touchesIMG_20250403_105759.jpg

The beauty of every art does not end at how you start but includes how you finish it. While shading, Chauncey pointed out that my earring isn't oval but like cylindrical. I had to make the correction.

Isn't Chauncey a smart teddy?
