Watercolor Memoirs From The Snow Mountains (My First Sketchbook Community Post!) 🌸💟🧡
I made this watercolor painting as a gift for a close friend sometime ago. This was inspired from a few pictures of her that I took in one of our trekking adventures at 16000 ft. I think gifting art to someone brings me the most joy because it is something that I put all of my heart into and when it makes someone happy, I feel utmost satisfaction in that. Over the years I have learned the value and found bliss in giving. And I am grateful for doing that through art. 😊
What’s happening in the painting?
Well this was shot at an altitude of about 13000-14000 ft in northern part of India. We had this beautiful furry doggie who accompanied us from the villages beneath the mountains. And never left our side, not even for a second during the entire trek. Naturally we grew fond of him and I think I anyway have a super soft spot for animals :) There was this moment when my friend was admiring the infinite skies from the edge of a cliff and the doggie sat beside her. And she gave him the warmest of hugs.
I was in their vicinity but didn’t go too close for any of them to move. At those harsh and unforgiving weathers watching this made me forget everything else. Nothing was needed to be said, no sound to be exchanged because of course nature was doing all the talking. This is when I this quote kept playing in my head.
“Until One Has Loved An Animal, A Part Of One's Soul Remains Unawakened."
And this moment left an imprint in my mind which I can still remember to the finest detail! Fortunately my friend love it and was very happy to receive it along with some text behind it :)
