Goa to be developed as a popular music festival destination in India

If you have been to any EDM festivals in Goa, India. You would remember having an awesome time.

Goa with it's relaxing beaches, happy go lucky locals and booming tourism is on the world map. In recent years this has not been the case, recently the popular EDM festivals sunburn and supersonic had to be moved to Pune, India. The Government citing that the private promoters of the events owed them money for support provided in the form of Police Force etc.

After Goa seeing several downfalls in tourism due to the rising crime rates as well as private commercialization of every aspect of tourism in the state, its about time the government steps in and works towards building back an International image.

In a recent press release, Tourism Minister of Goa announced special zones for music festivals and events. These zones would be away from residential areas and would have facilities to aid organizers. I think this is a great move, while we cannot preserve the natural beauty of Goa to its fullest, we still need to maintain Goa as a tourist destination.

In 2015 Sunburn in Goa attracted 350,000 music lovers from across the globe, Recently a very famous band of the 80s and 90s UB40 played in Goa to a sold out crowd.

We are hoping to see this development take place. Goas future as a destination for International Music Events looks bright.
