Are we free to chose?

Greetings friends!

We are often told that life is a matter of choice and we can decide to become successful or to fail. Certainly, our decisions shape the outcomes we experience. A wrong path may lead to ruin, while the right path may open the way to success. Yet this narrative hides a deeper truth—our freedom to choose is not infinite. We can’t say with certainty that the path we had taken is the right path or not, until we get the outcome. There are boundaries we cannot cross, and sometimes the choices before us are nothing more than illusions.

Yes, we are free to choose in particular situations. But more often than not, the circumstances of life force us into options that carry defeat within them. Consider the child born into poverty. His or her choices are not guided by ambition alone, but constrained by financial necessity. Dreams must shrink to fit the limits of survival. Or consider the slave, whose existence depends on his master’s mood. For him, the choices narrow to two, either endure a life of misery or end it altogether. Escape is not an option and freedom is not available.

In such cases, choice itself becomes a cruel paradox. We are told we are free, yet the menu of options is poisoned. Success or failure is not simply the product of individual will, but of the conditions into which we are born. To blame the individual for being “unsuccessful” is to ignore the harsh reality that sometimes all available paths lead to suffering.

Thus, the true question is not whether we are free to choose, but whether the choices offered to us are meaningful. Freedom without real alternatives is no freedom at all. Until society confronts the structures that limit human possibility, the burden of failure will rest not on individuals, but on the conditions that gave them only bad options to begin with. Thus, this is the harsh reality we must accept.

Thanks!

You are free to make a choice about the choices given, no more no less. You are free, unless you are a little child depending on the parents beating you up... you are free... unless your parents or in-laws treat you worse than an animal.

There are no wrong roads, in the end they all lead to the same goal and no matter which road you take you always pay a price. The one where others rule over your life or the one where you decide to leave to be at least able to breathe even if it's in loneliness and you are hunted for the rest of your life.

Still, if that price is better than staying, obeying, being humiliated, trampled, it's worth it and yo will wake up every morning and say: Tnankfully, I escaped.

Real alternatives? You are a human. You call yourself better than the average animal. If a hunted or banned out of the group animal survives, without plans, alternatives how come the high ranked human can't?

I can't and I won't are buried next to another on the graveyard, is a Dutch expression which says enough. You are not beaten hard enough to find or create that alternative.

Why should someone offer you a choice? Why not think out something yourself and instead of listen to the "brain" follow your instinct.

No way, I accept what I don't like to accept. It's me who created my world and those who are against it I left a very long time ago. I suggest you shake yourself up and wake up and ask yourself: What is it that I want? No excuses you can't, you can, all you are is scared and scared people are not the ones who will change the world.

I am not scared my friend. No matter how hard one say that we have free will, but it is always restricted. We cannot escape from the cage in which we are trapped. So, either we should break the cage or let it do what it likes.

I assume that you read what I wrote?
We can escape since that is what I did, but like said: everything comes with a price.

Yes dear! I had read it.

everything comes with a price.

Yes, this is true. Thanks!

A super creative day/week
