SM Supermalls, owned by SM Prime Holdings, is a chain of shopping malls in the Philippines that has 62 malls located across the country and 6 in China.SM Supermalls has become one of the biggest mall operators in Southeast Asia. Combined, the company has about 8.5 million square meters of gross floor area (GFA). It has 17,333 tenants in the Philippines and 1,478 tenants in China.The company that operates the malls was started by Henry Sy, Sr. in 1958 as Shoemart, with a store in Manila. In the 1960s Shoemart expanded its shoe store chain.[2] By the 1970s, Shoemart was a full-line department store, shifting its name from Shoemart to SM.
In the 1980s, the company diversified and ventured into the supermarket and home appliance store business. It opened the first "Supermall" store in 1985 in Quezon City called SM City North EDSA.

1. SM City Tianjin
One of the world’s largest malls in terms of gross floor area - attracted 400 leading brand representatives to the signing ceremony for the strategic cooperative agreement on the afternoon of March 17.The mall, with three floors above ground, has a land area of nearly 440,000 square meters and boasts over 1,000 stores and 8,000 parking slots.Customers will enjoy its standard Olympic-size ice-skating rink and unique science discovery center. Owned and developed by SM Prime Holdings, the largest mall chain owner and developer in the Philippines, it has a land area of 42 hectares, a gross floor area of approximately 406,962 square meters (4.38050×106 sq ft),[2] and attracts a daily average foot traffic of about 200,000 people.3. SM Seaside City Cebu
Also known locally as SM Seaside or just Seaside, is a large shopping mall owned and developed by SM Prime Holdings located in South Road Properties, Cebu City, Philippines that opened on 27 November 2015, exactly 22 years after SM City Cebu opened on the same date in 1993. it is SM Prime Holdings' 3rd mall in Metro Cebu and 55th in the Philippines. It is the centerpiece of the SM Seaside Complex, a 30-hectare mixed-use development at the South Road Properties.4. SM City North Edsa
Largest shopping mall located at the intersection of North Avenue and Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA) in Quezon City, Philippines. It is the first SM Supermall in the country and is the largest shopping mall in the Philippines, as well as the fourth-largest shopping mall in the world. It was constructed at a challenging period in the Philippines' political history with a gross floor area of 120,000 square meters in 1985The mall is divided into eight sections, namely the City Center, Interior Zone, The Annex, The Block, The Warehouse Club, Sky Garden, Northlink and Grass Residences the residential condominium area. The mall also features bowling alley, food court, garden, entertainment center and 12-theatres.
5. SM Megamall
A shopping mall located in the Ortigas business district of Metro Manila, Philippines. It is currently the second largest SM Supermall and the largest in the Philippines. The mall was developed and is operated by SM Prime Holdings. The mall complex comprises two buildings connected by a bridge, and occupies a land area of approximately 10 hectares, with a total floor area of 474,000 square metres (5,100,000 sq ft),] making it the second largest shopping mall in the country and the fourth in the world. The mall has a maximum capacity of 4 million people.One of the first ice skating rinks in the Philippines can be found in this mall. For conventions and functions, the mall houses three SM Megatrade Halls on its top floor. The Bridgeway connecting the two main buildings of the mall contains several eateries.
