Daily Gratitude Journal 9 - A way out of anxiety and depression

A daily gratitude journal is a superb tool that may be used to help redirect one's thoughts and thought patterns. Today is one of those days where I really need to refocus my head. I couldn't bring myself to write in the journal yesterday as I just felt too despondent to do much. My pain is excruciating today, and I wish I could just find some relief. Let's get to the real point before I get to where I'm complaining too much.


1. A comfortable bed

When I moved into my new apartment, the VA gave me a brand new Tempurpedic mattress. This mattress is phenomenal and really helps me relax beyond my pain in the evening. I am grateful to have a nice bed t sleep in at night.


2. Communication

Communication is key! We as intellectual beings like to share our knowledge and experiences with others. Learning how to use language, spoken and nonverbal, are pertinent if one wishes to be a part of this shared experience. I am grateful to have an extensive understanding of language and communication (now if I could just learn to communicate my emotions better lol).


3. Having all of my limbs

When I pick something up, or walk across the street, I often think of how grateful I am that I have all of my limbs. I may have had severe injuries, but I've never lost any pertinent parts or limbs. I am capable of doing so much in my day and my life just because I have my limbs. I am grateful that I have a capable body and all of my limbs.
