Greetings to everyone! Today I continue my story about all the peculiarities of being an artist.

In the previous part I told you that if you are a singer or a musician, you will have to study all your life, otherwise the level of technique will fall and it will not be easy to raise it again.

In this post I will tell you how musicians are looking for a job. In my country there is an expression: "The legs feed the wolf ". This means that if you don't think about yourself, then hardly anyone else will think about you.

If you are an average musician, then you will have to look for a job yourself. How do people do this and where can they play music to earn money?

Firstly, there are clubs, bars and restaurants. In many countries, special agents are looking for work in such placesbut not a musician personally. The agent has acquaintances in clubs and takes a percentage for himself.

In my country artists who just begin look for work themselves. They just run from one club to another, explain who they are and send their demo by mail. I think you understand that such process is not very pleasant, besides this is the lowest paid job, though it is quite regular. When an artist reaches a certain status, he no longer needs to run from club to club. Clubs will find you themselves.

Another opportunity for an artist is corporate parties, presentations, birthdays of various organizations. Here, as a rule, the work goes through intermediaries: that is, through firms that organize such events. In this case, the artists' fee is much higher than if you work in clubs.

Sometimes, if the intermediary is not very greedy and you are a well-promoted performer in your city, then the one-time fee can reach the monthly salary of the average person. But the requirements are also very high. The company may request to learn a special program for this event, which takes a lot of time to prepare.

The next opportunity for good earnings is concert tours or work on a music contract. This is a great way to earn money, but there are difficulties here. You need to be ready to leave home for a while, or even go abroad for quite a long time.
This type of work also implies the presence of an intermediary company to which you pay a percentage of your fee.
