Hi,

we had a nice discussion at home the other day, about the broken window theory. We both have grown up in good neighbourhoods. Since we got married and till last year, we have been living in an area with flats. It was not the best one, not the worst one, but it started decaying. It is the one in the picture, with a lot of green and huge parks, but still not the type where I want my kid to grow. I'm not a fan of flats and love the single family homes. It is the most decent type of living, and gives the most comfort. Due to the socialist politics, we have a decline in society, which can be measured.

So, we moved last year to a neighbourhood that is definitely better, with small streets and a lot of single family houses. Here people greet each other, and the place is cleaner. Why we did it? We knew that when a place starts to decline, it will decline very fast at a certain point. What can we do about it? Well, a lot, but there is the need of a community that works for it. Simple things, like picking up the rubbish, keeping your place tidy, and telling people that throw trash on the ground to pick it up. And this is the little what one can do.

Till my lat 20s, I was a volunteer in different organisations, and most had the focus to improve the surrounding. Like real focus on improvement, not publicity stunts like the mad men who glue themselves on the tarmac. One thing we did, in a deforested area, after a natural disaster, we planted over 100000 trees in one day. That was 12 years ago, and the forest is beautiful right now. Who do you think had a greater impact on the environment?

Also, even if I like the people to be free, I like also a clear law system. I'm against surveillance for an example, but if someone is a repeated offender, that person shall be tracked. Law shall punish the wrong doing, and I think that law is to permissive right now. For an example, look what is happening in El Salvador. Strong laws and a tough police cleaned the country. Look at California as a bad example. Arnold left it in a very good shape, not it is crime paradise due to the law and government. Which do you prefer? Would you rather live close to Skid Row, or in Santa Elena in El Salvador? Where would you love your kid to grow?
