Rugby, a tactic and strategyc game. What you can learn by watching a rugby match
Today I had the opportunity to go to a rugby match between two local teams. Although I am a woman, and this sport is more for men, I always follow it with great pleasure and enthusiasm and support my favorite team.
Now I am going to tell you about the history of rugby...
The legend says that in 1823, during a football game at a school in the Rugby town of England, a young man named William Webb Ellis picked up the ball and fled to the goal line.
Two centuries later, the Rugby Game has evolved and has become one of the most popular sports in the world with millions of players and lovers.
In fact, many forms of this sport have been practiced since the Middle Ages in many European countries.
The rugby game, with 15 field players, was featured in the Olympics four times, at the 1900, 1908, 1920 and 1924 Olympic Games.
Integrity, Passion, Solidarity, Discipline and Respect as the defining characteristics of the Rugby Game. They are now known generically as core values and are included in the World Rugby Playing Charter, a document whose aim is to ensure that Rugby will preserve its unique character both on and off the pitch.
Fundamental values create the participants the opportunity to understand the character of the game and what distinguishes it as a sport practiced by people all over the world.
A match lasts 80 minutes, in two parts at 40 minutes each one and a 10 minute break.
Just by running as a team, players can advance the ball to the line the opponent's target and eventually win the game. The Rugby Games laws are developed following two fundamental principles: to allow players to play in the spirit of the game and protect the health of the players.
There are various modified forms of the game with the aim of allowing anyone to play, in any situation, while developing their game skills.
Examples of these variants are Rugby Tag, Touch, Tip, Flag and Beach.
Do you practice this sport? What is your favourite sport?
