I still vividly remember one of my neighbors, a man I affectionately called the "Jack of All Trades." He was incredibly skilled in multiple areas, including painting, bricklaying, electrical work, furniture making, and roofing carpentry. I admired his hardwork and thought to myself, "If only I could be like him, I'd be set for life."
I wanted to be like him because his hardwork and multiple areas of work really paid out. There's no single day that man won't set his foot out of the house to work, except he doesn't want to. Provisions of food wasn't a problem in his store, and he took good care of his loving wife and children. I was impressed and wanting to be like him by all means. I only said this as a mere word, little did I know that the power of words and self-reflection strucked me.
I'm a draftsman, and I've been struggling to secure contracts due to my country's current economic climate, where everything is based on connection, not on experience or expert. Remembering my past admiration for my neighbor's handwork and determination, I decided to take action. I saved up funds from my blogging on Steemit and offline earnings to pursue an additional profession: POP (Paint of Paris ) work. It's a area of work I've long admired, and I saw an opportunity to complement my architectural work with this new skill...
I've now been in my new field of work for a month, and I'm excited to report that I'm making steady progress. Despite the current challenges, where I'll always skip breakfast because of work load, I'm confident that I'll be able to learn and master this skill, since it's something I've been admiring for a very long time.
The most attractive aspect of this profession is the lucrative compensation. The pay is directly tied to one's productivity and capacity, and I'll boldly say that I still possess the physical stamina to deliver, and make huge money on a daily basis. With dedication and hard work, I'm optimistic that I'll start earning a substantial income soon.
There's a wise saying that resonates with me, "A man can't sleep on one side." It means that one should never put all their eggs in one basket. That's exactly what I was doing in my life, relying solely on my architecture work, which had become increasingly challenging to secure contracts.
But now, with this new skill in POP work, I feel empowered to take control of my life. I'm very sure that having a second skill will bring me stability and a better quality of life. Investing two years in learning this new skill will be worth it, and I'm convinced that I'll never regret this decision. It's a story I never expected to tell, but here I am, talking about POP work when I'm a draftman. It's part of life and I'm ready to face it.
I'd like to invite @sergeyk @chant and @mile16 to participate in this contest
