My mother once asked me, "Why are you so passionate about keeping fit through sports? Has it really made a significant impact on your overall health?" I couldn't help but smile, knowing that I've witnessed firsthand the numerous benefits that sports have brought to my life. Alright, let's keep my mother's thought aside. Today, I'm happy to join this contest organised by @abdullahw2 to share my thoughts on the connection between sports and health. Let's learn by starting with our first question...
Do you like playing sports? If yes then, Which sport do you enjoy the most, and why?
Yes, I like playing sports, and the sports I enjoy the most is football game⚽. My passion for football starts from my childhood experiences living with my uncle, who was an avid football enthusiast and even a coach of our community team. Growing up in a household where football was a central part of daily life naturally made me a lover for the sport.

As I grew older, my love for football increases, even surpassing the one of my uncle. That's why when he's not around, I'll often sneak away to the football field to play with my friends, without my uncle's knowledge. Watching professional footballers like Lionel Messi, my idol, on TV further fueled my love for the sports. The way fans chant his name anytime he scores, the way he dribbles, his free kick taking, made me say NO to football.

Another reason I enjoy football is that it's a sport that primarily involves the legs, unlike basketball or rugby, which require more upper body strength and physical contact. I find football to be less stressful and more enjoyable to play, and I'm always a happy guy when it's time for football, either I'm the one playing, or I'm watching professionals.

Lastly, being good in playing football has also contributed to my love for the sport. When you're skilled at something, it's only natural to enjoy it more. Overall, my childhood experiences, passion for the game, personal proficiency, and the core benefits have all combined to make football my favorite sport.
How has playing sports improved your physical and mental health?.

I vividly remember a time when I was extremely weak, and a mere 20-minute run would leave me gasping for air like someone who had just escaped a predator. However, since I started delving into sports, and putting it into my routine, I've noticed a significant improvement in my physical abilities and endurance. Today, I can run for over 4 hours without feeling exhausted or winded like I used to. Gone are those days of 20 minutes, all thanks to sports.

Moreover, sports has also been a lifesaver for my mental well-being. Coming from a family that struggles to make ends meet, and living in a country with bad economy system, it's easy to get caught up in negative thoughts and worries, which can significantly lead to depression. Sports has helped me calm my mind and avoid overthinking, which can lead to worse mental states. Nowadays, I've learned to manage my stress levels effectively. After a sports session, I sleep soundly, and when I wake up, I feel refreshed and revitalized, ready to face whatever challenges come my way.
How staying away from sports can affect a person's mental and physical health?
Staying away from sports is comparable to eating food without drinking water, you'll never truly feel fulfilled or satisfied. Staying away from sports can have detrimental effects on one's mental health. When you're idle and not engaging in physical activity, you're more likely to get caught up in negative thoughts and overthinking, which can lead to anxiety and stress. In contrast, participating in sports activities can help clear your mind and reduce worries.
In terms of physical health, avoiding sports can only lead to weakness and a lack of endurance. There's a noticeable difference between the strength and agility of a sports enthusiast versus someone who doesn't engage in physical activity. Many people suffer from knee, back, and shoulder pains, and it's often because they're not incorporating sports into their lifestyle. Sports can help prevent these types of pains and keep your body strong and resilient.
Do you believe everyone should include some form of sports in their routine? Why or why not?
If my mother, who initially expressed concerns about my frequent participation in sports, were to adopt a sports routine herself, I'm confident she would experience the numerous benefits it provides. I believe that everyone should include some form of sports into their lifestyle or routine, as it'll be very beneficial on both physical and mental well-being.

Engaging in sports, whether it's football, swimming, dancing, or any other activity, can significantly improve one's overall health. It's an effective way to reduce stress and depression, leading to a better quality of life. Moreover, regular physical activity can help prevent health issues like high blood pressure, which is often caused by a sedentary lifestyle and excessive stress.
By including some form of sports into one's routine, individuals can break free from the cycle of overthinking and anxiety, which can contribute to high blood pressure. Therefore, I highly recommend incorporating sports into your daily routine to experience the countless benefits it has to offer.
