The creative process is always a welcome release.
It creates, through a kind of parallel life that we must connect with, that infinite, perhaps mental, part that takes us from limbo to catharsis.
We are conscious creators, dreaming of erasing all the gray areas. Dreaming of better opportunities, art saves us, communicates, humanizes us.
This revelatory discovery, this encounter with the soul, is actually a kind of liberation; we need to communicate, it is urgent, it may be ephemeral, but it is as dense and wonderful as lightning through the leaves.
Perhaps we don't know how to do anything else. The artist within me ventures out to explore the world, bringing back reefs, gardenias, humans, faces, useless scrap metal, and compels me to leave behind small sketches of other lives.
I suppose someone might come in and see, behind the scenes, our best work.
Come in, sit by the fire, enjoy your finest wine, and savor the confines of art.

Thank you for the comment. In Cuba, art is complicated because first you need to live, solve daily problems, then I have to write or paint in the early morning and sleep a couple of hours before going to work.
The lighting and exhaustion are terrible allies that limit us. Despite everything, I try to create, share with like-minded people, leave a small mark, and try to be a better person every day.

I have led the complicated art life as well. I worked full and over time as a line cook for many years while raising two daughters up close. Art was always a calling (perhaps a nagging) that wouldn’t let me be. This Internet has opened up the sharing of our life’s work. Many small marks will indelibly wipe out the watered-down power stain that separates us at present. I believe more people will feel their freedom awakened by the persistent nagging of art. It’s only a matter of time. Let’s keep up the good work!

People often dismiss art as just a pastime. What they don't realize is that it is an entire world of its own, something deeper and far from ordinary.
It serves a much higher purpose than mere decoration; it’s the shift that moves us from just existing to actually feeling alive.
This art reminds me of Laputian robots from Castle in the Sky.
