Movie Review: Revealing the Past in the Future Through Blade Runner 2049

Apakah kalian sudah menonton salah satu film yang paling dinantikan tahun ini, telah rilis di bioskop. Blade Runner 2049 merupakan sekuel dari film Blade Runner (1982) yang dibintangi oleh Harrison Ford. Sebelumnya digarap oleh Ridley Scott, kini ia menjabat sebagai executive producer sementara bangku sutradara kini diduduki oleh Denis Villeneuve, yang pernah menyutradarai film Prisoners (2013), Sicario (2015) & Arrival (2016). 

Have you watched one of the most anticipated movies of the year, having released in theaters. Blade Runner 2049 is a sequel to Blade Runner (1982), starring Harrison Ford. Previously worked by Ridley Scott, he now serves as executive producer while the director's bench is now occupied by Denis Villeneuve, who has directed the Prisoners (2013), Sicario (2015) & Arrival (2016).  

Mengambil setting di tahun 2049, Tyrell Indutries diambil alih oleh Niander Wallace (Jared Leto) yang membeli perusahaan tersebut dan berganti nama menjadi Wallace Industries. Perusahaan ini membuat Replicant (human-android) jenis Nexus 8, jenis Replicant yang dianggap lebih bisa menuruti perintah manusia. Walau dengan terobosan baru, masih ada Replicant yang memberontak sehingga Blade Runner pun harus bertugas untuk membasmi pemberontak. 

Taking the setting in 2049, Tyrell Indutries was taken over by Niander Wallace (Jared Leto) who bought the company and renamed Wallace Industries. The company is making a Nexus 8 Replicant (human-android) type, a type of Replicant that is considered more able to obey human orders. Although with a new breakthrough, there are still Replicants who rebelled so that Blade Runner must be tasked to eradicate the rebels.  

Ryan Gosling yang berperan sebagai K,  merupakan polisi LAPD yang bertugas untuk memensiunkan mereka semua. Salah satu targetnya adalah Sapper Morton (Dave Bautista). Ketika berada di lokasinya K tak sengaja menemukan makam replicant yang ditelusuri bisa memicu kekacauan antara kaum manusia dengan kaum Replicant. Di sana K juga terbayang masa lalu yang membuatnya resah. Dalam penyelidikannya ia menemukan nama Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), mantan anggota Blade Runner LAPD yang telah menghilang selama 30 tahun. K mencoba mencarinya namun dibuntuti oleh anak buah Niander Wallace, Luv (Sylvia Hoeks). K berusaha untuk mencari keberadaan dari Rick Deckard? 

Ryan Gosling, who plays K, is a LAPD police officer in charge of retiring them all. One of the targets is Sapper Morton (Dave Bautista). When in its location K accidentally finds a replicant tomb traced to trigger chaos between humans and Replicas. There K also pictured the past that made him uneasy. In his investigation he found the name Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former Blade Runner LAPD member who has disappeared for 30 years. K tried to look for him but was followed by the men of Niander Wallace, Luv (Sylvia Hoeks). K trying to find the whereabouts of Rick Deckard?  

Film ini menyajikan kehidupan California di masa depan yang membuat para penonton ternganga. Visual menjadi hal yang paling mencolok di film ini, tepuk tangan untuk sang sinematografer, Roger Deakins. Mata kita pun akan dimanjakan oleh pemandangan kota Los Angeles yang futuristik hingga usangnya kota San Diego di masa depan. Selain itu, musik olahan Hans Zimmer dan Benjamin Wallfisch terasa mantap dan berirama di setiap adegan, petualangan yang menjanjikan. 

This film presents the life of California in the future that makes the audience gaping. Visually the most striking thing in this movie, applause for the cinematographer, Roger Deakins. Our eyes will also be spoiled by the futuristic landscape of Los Angeles until the city of San Diego in the future. In addition, the music of Hans Zimmer and Benjamin Wallfisch feels solid and rhythmic in every scene, a promising adventure.  

Jika kamu tidak mengikuti film pertamanya akan sedikit tersesat, namun tenang, jalan ceritanya masih bisa kita ikuti. Sebagai penolong, Denis Villeneuve dan Warner Bros Pictures merilis film pendek ke Youtube yang berjudul Black Out 202”, 2036: Nexus Dawn dan 2048: Nowhere to Run. Nah tiga film pendek ini nantinya akan menjembatani cerita Blade Runner 2049. Hanya saja kelemahan film berdurasi 162 menit ini beralur lambat, sehingga kita harus sedikit bersabar. Namun, anda akan merasa nyaman setelah menontonnya, karena alurnya akan berkesinambungan dengan cerita Blade Runner 2049.

However, you will feel comfortable after watching it, because the plot will be sustainable with the story of Blade Runner 2049.  

Penampilan Ryan Gosling sangat menjanjikan sebagai K, tangguh di luar sebagai Blade Runner namun rapuh di dalam karena masa lalu. Aktor nominasi Academy Awards ini berhasil memainkan emosi dengan baik. Harrison Ford sebagai karakter kunci, ia tidak tampil begitu banyak namun koneksinya terjalin klop. Ana de Armas melengkapi karakter K dengan perannya sebagai Joi AI (Artificial Intelligence) yang cantik, sekedar informasi Ryan Gosling adalah pemain utama di film Deadpool dan The Hitman Bodyguard. 

Ryan Gosling's appearance is very promising as K, tough on the outside as Blade Runner but fragile inside because of the past. The Academy Awards nominee actor managed to play emotions well. Harrison Ford as a key character, he does not appear so much but the connection is established. Ana de Armas completes the character of K with her role as a beautiful Joi AI (Artificial Intelligence), just information Ryan Gosling is a major player in Deadpool and The Hitman Bodyguard.  

Blade Runner 2049 berhasil menampilkan visual efek dan CGI yang memanjakan mata, jajaran cast yang solid dan mengungkap masa lalu di masa depan. Denis Villeneuve pun sukses menyeimbangi film Blade Runner pendahulunya. Anda tidak akan menyesal, segera pesan tiket menonton di bioskop kesayangan anda.

Blade Runner 2049 managed to showcase the visual effects and CGI that spoil the eyes, solid cast ranks and uncover the past in the future. Denis Villeneuve also successfully menyeimbangi Blade Runner movie predecessor. You will not regret, immediately order tickets to watch in your favorite theaters.
