ColorChallenge. Sunday purple. Watercolor. Sunset

in #colorchallenge7 years ago (edited)

Today I will paint the sunset. I really want to go to Thailand, or Bali ... or somewhere where it's warm and I can swim. The weather outside the window does not please me, I already want warmth and sun, and not snowdrifts to the waist and a hat on my head))) Therefore, I will draw a summer landscape.

I use:
watercolor "Nevskaya Palitra": pink quinacridone, scarlet, cadmium yellow medium;
watercolor Van Gogh: purple, indigo;
cotton paper Saunders Waterford, 100% cotton;
watercolor pencils: red, purple, indigo;
pastel pencils Derwent: light pink, white;
white gouache.

I add water to the paper and distribute it on the sheet. I wait for the water to permeate a piece of paper. I prepared 3 mix: pink, red, purple. I put yellow paint on the horizon line. I lift the sheet so that the water runs down. I start with a pink color, turn into red. From the horizon line up I do a mirror image. But I add another purple. On wet paper I add clouds at the horizon line. I'm taking a hairdryer.

I take the brush and moisten the bottom of the sheet. I add more shades to the water and make hints of waves. While the sheet is wet I paint mountains and a shadow from the mountains on the water. I close the bottom of the sheet and is ready to put the stars in the sky, but I decide that I can add the moon. I put the lid on the white gouache and sprinkle the stars. I'm lining with a pastel pencil. I darken the moon and leave the reflex from the lit side.

I return to the foreground. I add indigo and apply a dark shade to the shore. I add the trunk of the palm and turn to the leaves. I'm using a goat brush. To the picture was not empty - I add people and a boat on the water.

Now I need to correct the picture a little. I take pencils and select the horizon line. The water is darker than the sky.

That's My Entry for the #ColorChallange- Sunday hosted by @kalemandra
