What Anger Did To me...

in #life7 years ago (edited)

Happy Sunday everyone,
Today I want us to take a moment to peep into a very important aspect of human relation and behavior. A topic not often discussed but regularly exhibited.

ANGER!!!

I grew up to be highly temperamental, very little things could offend me. And this caused a strain in my relationship with everyone who met me, from family to friends and colleagues. Everyone avoided me like a plague because they didn't want to offend me in any way.

I went on for a long time with that habit until I realized I had lost so many friends to anger. I became a lonely man indeed so I began to realize something was fundamentally wrong.

It wasn't easy initially but I had to work on myself. I started keeping quiet when angry and also started walking away from scenes, events and people Who could further trigger this negative emotion of anger. Slowly I began to get better in this regards till I could totally have control over myself in moments of such emotions.

Anger in itself can be a healthy emotion until it's allowed to become violent and uncontrollable. Lots of opportunities have eluded many due to inability to control negative emotions such as anger. There's a sense in which we must know that whatever we can not control will control us. Anger just like fire is a good servant but terrible master.

This is what happens when you are angry, like the photos just above, you hurt yourself too whenever you are angry.

Anger is a fierce feeling of a man's displeasure which usually prompts him to either fight against the person who caused him the displeasure or make him feel irritated.

Anger emerges from feelings which are man's emotions based on his nature. So man holds in his nature to succumb to his humanistic tendencies of feelings, but then it takes self development to increase the good part of us and reduce or eliminate the not so nice aspects of our lives.

Man is an individual and should be treated as such. It is when men come together that they become people, tribes or Nation that live in a society. Therefore man should not be treated as a tribe but as an individual, this is because everyone is solely unique in his composition, background, upbringing and TEMPERAMENTS.

In practical analysis of anger, its disadvantages have by far outnumbered its advantages in human existence.

Every man on earth actually has the tendency to get angry in the cause of interactions with other men. But the extent or degree of a man's anger expressed is dependent on his maturity. I mean spiritual, cultural, social, biological and intellectual maturity.

Anger is a tool that could be used to force your way through a barrier as you are provoked to dare the cost of an adventure based on your personal convictions that you are on the right course.

The best thing to do when anger begins to build up is to keep quiet and walk away just like I did. While some may see this as weakness, but in real sense only the mighty can walk away from such heightened negative emotion(The Christian Bible mentions silence to be a very important virtue).

Just like the Newton's law states that :

like charges repel and unlike charges attract.

When you add like charges of negativity in words to the negativity of anger, it repels and backfires at you. But when you bring an unlike charge of silence or solitude, it helps you think straight and actually prevents you from over reacting.

There's a lot of strength in quietness when a person is going through negative emotions like anger. Quietness is a weapon of war because you can not be quoted nor misquoted for saying anything.

Silence weakens your assailants and utterly confuses them.

Indeed your anger can be repackaged, bottled or rechanneled into constructive achievements with little or no effort.

I want to take out time today to thank STEEMIANS Who always find time to visit people like us trying to come up and be heard. It's really encouraging.

That's true. I was once there. The best i do these days is to laugh over things that are annoying to me. In that way. It really helps me to stay happy even when am insulted

It's a great secret you just shared. Anger can burn you too

I was once an angry person too. Earned me the nickname tripwire. And people feared me. Like you learning to keep quiet and avoid situations that would illicit this really helped. Now I realized that nothing is to big to start a fight over and that everything can be solved amicably.

Thanks so much for sharing
