Administrated and operated by the local government of Fremont, the Mission Peak Regional Preserve carry a lot of symbolic significance as it is considered as a leading landmark of the City of Fremont. The park opens its doors to the public, and its administration is specifically held by the East Regional Park District that also controls the affairs of the expansive Coyote Hills Regional Park. The Mission peak Region Preserves also incorporates the two prominent mountains, the Monument Peak and the Mouth Allison and therefore the mission peak in the park becomes the northern summit of these two peaks.
The Mission Peak Regional Park offers countless opportunities for the hikers and bicycle riders to have the time of their lives by moving freely in the open nature with utmost protection provided by the governing authorities of the Park. As the park adjoins and oversees the great Silicon Valley, it is a renowned and highly prominent spot among the hikers, local vacationers from the bay of Francisco, backpackers from all across the globe and professional climbers. Another reason why it is a heavily visited place is that it offers ample opportunities for climbing which is extremely hard and challenging.
What further astounds and lure the tourist to reach the summit is that the Mission peak houses a legendary “Mission Peeker” symbol that acts as a prominent landmark and symbol of the City of Fremont. Therefore, this landmark is heavily crowded a majority of the time even on the weekdays as the tourists gather around and indulge in clicking keepsake photos for a lifetime memory. On weekends, the entrance of the Regional Park, the Stanford Entrance is extremely crowded and filled with the ongoing stream of visitors. From 2010 till present, every year, the public and tourist attendance upsurges then making this attraction the leading and heavily attended place in Fremont.
Protection tips and guidelines for the hikers
It is important to note that while hiking on the trails of the Mission Peak Regional Preserve, the hikers and bicycle riders need to take certain important guidelines to their notice. Keep in mind that these trials are 10 km long and it takes around 5 hours for hikers to complete one round trip on foot. However, if they are bicycling, then the duration of roundtrip reduced to two and the half hours. Therefore, the hikers need to carry plenty of water and keep themselves hydrated as the hiker after midday becomes difficult as the scorching heat and light of the sun becomes unbearable. Alongside, in their backpacks, the hikers need to carry sunglasses, sunscreen, ample water around two liters per person and munchies that pump energy to keep the hikers walking till completion.
