Teatro Amazonas was built during the 20th century which was a great era for Brazil. The amazing opera house built in the middle of the rain forest is something worth seeing when you are in Manaus, Brazil. An Italian architect, Celestial Sacardim did the construction of this building with bringing in the furniture from Paris. The marble on the floor is from Italy, and the steel in the building is from English. The entire dome is decorated with about 36,000 ceramic titles from the outside with paintings of the national flag. The interior has the paintings and decoration by Domenico de Angelis who was a popular Italian painter of that time.
You can enjoy the mesmerizing views of this historic opera house which has an entire story behind it. It was built to lure the singing of Enrico Caruso in 1897 in this corner of the world, and he was also the first singer of the opera house. Today, the opera house has about 39 members as the philharmonic orchestra who perform from Russia, Belarus, and Bulgaria. The annual film festivals are also held at the same place for many years.
It is a great place to relax with your family by listening to the daily rehearsals of Amazonas Philharmonic orchestra. Along with that, there are musical concerts, choirs and other performances for you to enjoy. When you enter into the opera house, it gives you the feel of renaissance time. The tiles and everything fitted in the building is antique and carefully installed which lasts until now. The beautiful chandeliers were imported from Italy and are there until today spreading elegance all around the opera house for the visitors.
There is a showroom with the seating area of 701 people on the top. Following that floor, there are 266 seats on the ground floor. Along with that, the cabins have 100 seats. The opera house is spacious which can hold up to more than a thousand people at one time. The stage is wide enough which can be seen from all sides of the opera house. It is a mesmerizing discovery of Brazil culture when you visit the opera house. There is nothing like this place which will make you feel calm and bring back some of the special moments of your life to you again.
