STEEMCHURCH - Faith That Grows

Faith is the most fundamental subject of believers, without it, we are made to understand, it is impossible to please God. It is obvious that no matter what effort you put into your Christian life, no matter your labor of love, sacrifice, and giving, without faith, it is a futile exercise. Without faith, praying is of no use, and fasting will be a mere exercise. Faith gives sight for the invisible, a man who lives by faith will never view any situation the way a natural man will do. Faith is actually the ability to see the invisible.

The entire physical universe is governed by divinely ordained principles called natural laws. It is naturally impossible for anything to run contrary to these laws, they are rigid and unchangeable. Nothing natural can change them, but faith! Faith cannot only suspend natural laws but can cancel them altogether. This simply means that what nature says it's impossible faith can make possible. Faith is a supernatural phenomenon, a divine force that can put every natural law under control. The Bible is adorned with many instances where natural laws were put on hold by the force of faith.

There are different types of faith. The type of faith you possess determines to an extent your relationship with God. Your type of faith determines your walk with God. Above all, let's not forget that it is impossible to please God without faith.

Common Faith: This is the basic faith common among all average Christians. It is based on the common and generally accepted truths of the Christian fundamentals.

Wavering Faith: This kind of faith can be called Thomas kind of faith or doubting faith. This faith has the capacity to ask, but never the trust to receive. It never gets things done, it is always double-minded. It has nothing to do with how many years one has been in faith. Wavering faith asks and locks out the answer, it asks and cancels the result.

Mental Faith: Mental faith limits itself only to the realm of knowledge, sense knowledge. It is more like an abstract faith. Genuine faith is active, mental faith is passive and powerless, cold and dead. Mental faith is nothing but a mere product of human intellect.

Strong Faith: Strong faith is active, it doesn't believe in defeat nor does it allow situations and circumstances to control or overwhelm it. Strong faith laughs at symptoms and circumstances. It is robust and has tough spiritual muscles it has developed through hard times and great trails. This faith has its roots in God and His words.

Great Faith: Great faith is faith that knows God's mind, which knows His expectations. It is a mature faith that doesn't believe defeat is possible with Christ. Great faith is a trusting faith. It is absolutely confident in God's omnipotence and sovereignty over nature, science, human philosophy, and the devil. More than anything, great faith exalts God's word over all that's created.

Jesus compared faith to a seed, He was simply saying that faith has the potential to grow. Just like every seed has life in it and the innate power to become a tree that in turn will produce fruits and seeds. Jesus doesn't expect the faith of anyone to begin and remain at the mustard seed level. He expects it to grow and reproduce. According to Jesus, the mustard seed may be the smallest grain but when planted has the potential to grow and become the mightiest tree, greater than all other trees.

In conclusion,

Faith that grows can see the fulfillment of God's word. It is when faith grows that the manifestation of the miraculous can be possible. Little faith will only do a little thing while big faith will get big things done. I pray God will help us to continue our faith through Christ, Amen!
