MUST-SEE PLACES: Prague, Czech Republic
If you are looking for one of the most beautiful places in Europe to go see, while staying on a budget, Czech Republic is a great place to go see (: I apologize if some of the pictures are low quality; My phone wasn't the best back then, and I was much less interested in taking pictures than the average tourist.
I bring up the tight budget because this was where my friends and I managed to find the CHEAPEST AirBnB! If you didn't know already, AirBnB is the future, and you need to stop using hotels immediately, and start supporting everyday people like you and me by renting their beautiful AirBnBs (:
Check out this awesome place we rented for $30/Night! That's cheaper than most hostels, since hostels charge per person!
Here's the main room/bedroom, with 2 beds, and a dining table:
The full kitchen:
And an amazing shower! One thing most of Europe is slacking in... Is the size and qualities of the showers. Just visit if you don't know what I mean (:
This particuar AirBnB would have costed at least 45-70$ a night in some European countries. One reason I think it's easier to have more purchasing power in the CR, is because their currency, the Czech Korun, is a bit devalued, and thus, currencies like the USD, EUR, etc, have more spending power due to their higher relative value.
I really love this city. We had a good amount of time to explore the "Old Town" (which is where the first picture and the following pictures were taken)
Here is their famous "Astronomical Clock"... Couldn't tel you WTF it says though.
And if you keep walking this way, it brings you to the entrance of their most famous bridge, the St. Charles Bridge. Which, despite being very beautiful, is one of the #1 pick-pocketing locations in the world, so keep a close eye on yo shit (;
This is a view of the entrance from the other side, from the bridge itself.
This is beyond the bridge, where there is a big hill you can walk up, to go see a great view, and the Prague Castle.
This castle has a ridiculously insane amount of detail... It's mind-blowing that there were dudes on a rickety scaffolding, hundreds of years ago, going up there to CHISEL some of the tiniest details the human eye can see... Amazing.
As you can see, I am from Florida, USA, and it was COLD AS SHIT in Prague at the time. This last winter was record low temperatures there; This was the coldest country in Europe that we visited, and we saw 8 countries, via the Eurail Train Pass (which you should consider trying). The train systems in Europe are the best. Many countries let you ride any train for free if you have a Eurail or Interail pass!
I hope you found this interesting, and I hope you plan on visiting and supporting the city of Prague by spending a few nights there soaking up the culture (:
