DO NOT USE A VPN IN THESE CASES.
One of the common means of browsing without others knowing the location you are browsing from and the system you are browsing with is VPN which is common everywhere now at days. One of the interesting things about it is it does not matter what device you are using. Either I been a mobile phone or it is a laptop or desktop you can still use it.
It can hide your IP addresses and has the potential to encrypt your connection on a public network. With all of its great advantages, it also has some disadvantages and in some cases, it will be unwise to use it. I will therefore be taking us all through some cases in which we should not use VPN and the reasons behind them.
When streaming video.
One of the typical examples of the time not to use a VPN is when streaming videos. For example, if you are planning on watching videos on YouTube, watching Netflix, or streaming football, it is heavily advisable not to use VPN. unless in special cases, where you are avoiding geo-blocking, you should not use it, especially if you want to enjoy the streaming.
One of the major characteristics of a VPN is that it slows down the Internet connection. It reduces the speed of the Internet connection making the video lag, cut, and continue. One will not enjoy these types of videos if he or she is using a VPN. it is therefore important not to use VPN in any of these cases.
Downloads
Just as I need the above point, it is clear that you need not use VPN when you are planning on downloading large files. One thing you should know is that if you are on a private network where you are free from any intrusion, then it is advisable not to use a VPN.
The VPN will turn to slow your internet connection because it has to send interconnections to different servers before it can be used to access the Internet. One should not use VPN especially if you want your download to be as fast as possible.
When making a video call.
Video call is one of the uses of the internet that consume Internet bundle. It is very common to see breakages on the Internet when using a VPN in making a video call.
Using a VPN to make an official video call through Google meet, Google classroom, Skype, Telegram, Discord, and others might cause you a bit more harm than good. it is highly possible not to hear what is been said and if you are the speaker, your audience might not hear anything from you.
Conclusion
There are things that we do that require a VPN for security reasons and there are things that do not require VPN. I strongly believe the things I have listed here do not require the use of a VPN if not it will be at the individual's discretion.
