The tiny little monster that tricked everyone! A Halloween story for kids

                                                       

Once upon a time in dreamland, there lived a tiny little blue monster. He was so small and petite that no one ever noticed him, and if they did see him, everyone made fun of him.  

"You can't scare anyone! You are too tiny, nobody will ever be scared of you!"

The little blue monster just crawled back under the bed and hid there until everyone was gone. He was scared of everyone because they made jokes about him all the time. 

As time went on, all the other monsters grew into big ugly monsters, but the little blue monster didn't grow an inch. Every day he waited until everyone was asleep and then he went out to practice. 

He sat on a rock near a pond, and he practiced his roar every single night for months on end. Although he was so tiny, his voice was loud and scary. Some of the animals at the pond laughed at him because he was so tiny, but when they heard his voice they got very scared.     

All the frogs and the ducks decided to move away because they were too scared of the tiny little blue monster with the very loud voice.  

The little monster felt very bad about scaring the animals away and he called them all together one night.  He promised to stop scaring them if they helped him to play a trick on all the other monsters.  

All the animals agreed to help, just as long as the could move back to their beloved pond. They planned the whole thing together and that night the little blue monster was ready to scare the living daylights out of all the other monsters.  

It was Halloween and he knew that all the monsters would come out to play. It was the one night of the year when they could go out and be between real people and not only in their dreams. 

The little blue monster hid around the corner. When the biggest monster stepped his foot outside he took his chance.  

He roared and roared, and he scared that big monster back to where he came from.  Every time the monster stepped outside he roared as if he life depended on it. 

All the other monsters were too scared to go outside and for the first time in years, they missed out on Halloween.  

The little blue monster became great friends with all the other animals, and as soon as any of the other monsters tried to come outside the little blue monster chased them all away.
