The colors of spring are all very refreshing, bright, and delicate. All kinds of colors are intertwined, which are exactly the colors I like very much.
All sorts of trees by the roadside are in bloom. Although I have looked up the differences in the petals of peach blossoms, cherry blossoms, and apricot blossoms online, and at that time I thought I wouldn't make mistakes in distinguishing them in the future, once I entered the park and actually looked at the flowers on these trees, I would start to get a bit confused again.
Anyway, they are all very beautiful, and I like them all.
When I was observing the willows sprouting this year, I suddenly noticed a problem. I had always thought that there were only those willow leaves on the branches of the willow trees. However, when I got closer, I was surprised to find that there were also some fluffy things like foxtails growing on the branches of the willow trees.
Later, I searched for information online and learned that it turned out to be the flowers of the willow tree, called catkins. Willows are dioecious plants, and these catkins are different on willows of different genders. The male catkins are usually thicker and sturdier, looking fluffy, and their colors are mostly light yellow or light green; the female catkins are relatively slender, with many small flowers on them. As they grow, they will gradually develop into fruits. When the fruits ripen and split open, the seeds inside are covered with white fluff, which is the willow catkins we often see.
In my impression, in Wuhan, the willow catkins may still be floating in the air from June to July, and even from August to September. There are many willow trees planted in Jianghan University near us. During the season when the willow catkins are floating all over the sky, I really don't like it. Every time the strong wind blows, the overwhelming white willow catkins will fly everywhere, which is very unfriendly to those who have rhinitis or are allergic to dust mites. Moreover, the willow catkins will stick to the body, hair, and clothes easily, and they are difficult to deal with.
So, my feelings towards willow trees are quite complicated. I like to see the fresh appearance of willows when they first sprout in spring, but I also dislike the troubles caused by the spreading of willow catkins in the season when summer and autumn intersect. Nature is just like this. Every kind of thing has multiple aspects, and willow trees are no exception.
