--————----
We came to the bear exhibition area of the zoo and lingered there for about thirty to forty minutes. At first, we visited the brown bear area and then went to see the black bears. The activity area of the black bears was significantly smaller compared to the spacious area for the brown bears.
There were four or five brown bears in the brown bear area. They had just finished their meal in the morning, and each of them looked lively and particularly active. At first, two brown bears were pushing and pulling at each other. I couldn't tell for a moment whether they were playing a game or really attacking each other. Judging from their movements, it seemed that they were just frolicking and not getting serious.
However, before long, the situation got out of control, and it turned into four bears bullying one bear. The largest bear ran around the field, and two or three slightly smaller brown bears chased after it closely. After catching up, several bears fought with each other and rolled on the ground.
There was a feeding area for brown bears beside the field, and there was a slightly shallow puddle in it, with some things like stones placed inside. During the intense conflict, two bears fought from the land all the way to the edge of the puddle. Suddenly, the large-sized brown bear gave a powerful slap, directly knocking the second brown bear that had been纠缠ing it into the puddle. The onlookers were stunned, and I deeply felt the astonishing strength of the bear. If a person were to receive such a slap, they would probably lose their life.
Previously, I had a stereotypical impression of bears, always thinking that they were very clumsy and their movements must be very slow. But what I saw this time completely subverted my perception. Brown bears can run extremely fast. When they are hunting for prey or dealing with emergencies, they run much faster than humans. A brown bear is more than two meters tall, and it can take a step of two or three meters. When it lands, there is a dull "thud" sound.
From this, it can be seen that if a person encounters a bear in the wild, they should either play dead or climb a tree. Trying to outrun a bear is almost hopeless.
This trip to the zoo was truly worthwhile. When we saw the rare scene of the brown bears fighting, a group of children beside us excitedly shouted, "Mom and Dad, come and see! Xiong Da and Xiong Er are fighting!" Many tourists also gathered around to watch this "battle among bears."
Later, we went to see the black bears. The black bears were entirely black. Unlike the brown bears, under their foreheads, around their necks, and on their chests, there was a heart-shaped area of white fur, which looked quite cute. However, these two black bears were far less agile than those four or five brown bears. After they finished eating, they started to bask in the sun and doze off, and they didn't play or frolic together. They got along peacefully, and there was really nothing interesting to watch. So we only stayed there for a minute or two and then left. Most of the time during this zoo trip was spent around the brown bears, and the thrilling scene of the brown bears fighting undoubtedly became the most memorable part of this journey.
