Make treasure in heaven.

(Lk 12: 32-34) "Do not be afraid, little flock, because your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom, sell what you own, and give alms, make yourselves bags that do not grow old, treasure in heaven that does not run out where a thief does not come, nor a moth destroys, for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. The vision of the kingdom of God in the future inspires the soul to serve in the present. This is what happens after the transfiguration of Jesus on the mountain. After strengthening his people with the vision of his glory, Christ takes them down again into the valley to continue attending to the needs of real people (Mt 17: 1-21).

Paul exposes a theme similar to the Corinthians. After announcing the transformation that will be the fate of the last generation of believers - a step to glory in the blink of an eye - the apostle ends by saying "So, my beloved brothers, be firm and constant, growing in the work of the Lord always, knowing that your work in the Lord is not in vain "(1 Cor 15:58). The hope of future glorification is translated into renewed energies to preach the gospel in the present.

Life goes on. We have to continue dealing with real people. For this reason Paul ends the letter summarizing four priorities that must shape the coexistence between the brothers, taking into account the glory that awaits them in the future manifestation of Jesus Christ.

The person who invests in eternity, helping the needy and supporting the ministry, is the person who will meet their own needs. God promises to entrust more to the disciple who administers his goods faithfully. Therefore, Paul reminds them of the promise: "My God will supply everything you lack according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus" (Phil 4:19).
