I could see the Pumicestone Passage from inside a house on Bribie Isand ~

in #photography7 years ago

When these two enterprising people were house hunting they found this broken down an old house full of asbestos. But it had a "wow" factor, it was situated on the shore of the Pumicestone Passage, they bought with their hearts undeterred with a costly re-build.

Here is the front of the house and the view that they see all day.

Bribie Island is situated 89 kms south of The Sunshine Coast, it took us about 1 hour and 20 minutes from the highway to their home. Pumicestone Passage is a narrow waterway between Bribie Isand and the mainland of Queenalnd. The Island is in Moreton Bay, is 34 kms long and has a population of approximately 17,000. It has been well known that retirees head to Bribie Island to enjoy the climate, the fishing and the quiet life.

The bridge was built in 1963 and is 835metres long.

Bribie Island suits my two friends, they like the quiet easy going lifestyle, going out on the boat, swimming, walking and gazing at their view. Good on them, their choice was well worth the cost, hard work and frustrations of building a new home. I will be back for another visit to look at this view.

Happy day everyone.

Cheers
