Once upon a time not too long ago I boasted about my flourishing vegetable and herb garden. I couldn't help myself, it was such a thrill that needed sharing. Everything was so green and happy. Best of all when I needed fresh basil, rosemary, chives, parsley and rosemary it was just a little walk out the back door armed with a pair of scissors. So good and so easy.
I even wrote a post last year about my wonderful green patch. Here were my photos:
The very sad happening has been the complete dissemination of my vegetables and herbs. The immense heat has got to them big time. They are all gone! It is a first because my herbs have lived happily for the last four years in my pots and little garden patch.

As much as I want to restart my vegetable and herb growing I am going to wait another month just to make sure the heat is gone. My garden needs new soil, mulch and new plants. I am sure my ever reliable hard working Ben will be the major gardening doing the lifting and digging.
Just wait and see, I am down but not beaten! I will grow corn again.

In the meantime I am using tubes of cold pressed herbs bought in the supermarket to flavour my cooking very handy!


Wow Angie, that is too bad about the heat destroying your lovely garden. Not to be discouraged, you will be able to grow more when the season cools down.
I’ve seen those herbs in a tube and will pick some up to try.

Have you ever tried the cold pressed herbs? They make for a great alternative. I often get a tube of basil for the basil pesto in my vegetarian lasagne. Sending you blessings Jo. The weeks zoom by so quickly.
Wow you guys must be having record temperatures if the heat hasn't affected your garden for 4 years until now!
it has been horrid and right now thank goodness it is raining and so much cooler. Maybe we won't put the air con on in the bedroom tonight.
Air conditioning is so wonderful! Makes me wonder how people survived without it!
They just suffered janton like in the good old days. Have we all gone soft I wonder? I know I have, hahaha.
Oh I love our modern conveniences! lol. We are definitely soft.
