Well...I'm All Set for the Long Haul Induced by 'Corona' Lock-Down

in #survival5 years ago

Yeah, yeah...

I know...!!!

You just saw a similar post by me on Hive.io, but did you notice this wonderful photo that I took finally 'Up-Loaded' here on Steemit that I had trouble doing on #Hive...?!?!?!?

Huh...??? Huh...???

Check out all the goodies I managed to grab from various locations around town, over the past two weeks

It was tough, fighting off the crowds at the Market, going nuts trying to gather anything they could get their hands on...but as you can clearly see...I scored the most important of items :>)

Two cans of Spam should last me a long time, as long as I carefully ration them. They're so filled with sodium and chemical preservatives, that it shouldn't be a problem with even an open can going rancid; refrigerated or not...!!!

I'm one lucky dog I tell ya...

Anyway... How are 'you' guys doing, out there in 'Corona' land? I know it's tough my friends, but hang in there...There are a lot worse things than starving to death and not being able to wipe your butt while in the process of dying...

Be thankful you don't have to listen to 'Gangsta Rap' at the same time you're wasting away with a stinky, dirty ass because you ran out of toilet paper!!!

Look at it this way...If you run out of food...you will not even be able to move your bowels within short time, so your actually in luck.

Here's a little helpful hint though for any of you in need... If you run out of toilet tissue before running out of food, all you need do, is go out into a field and gather up some Mullein Leaves. Experienced hikers and woodsmen know the joy of feeling large, soft Mullen Leaves pressed against their lower extremities... You'll be happy I told you about this wonderous plant once you try it...

Here's some pics below of what the plant looks like that I captured online so you don't grab a handful of 'Poison Ivy' by mistake...!!!

Those images are what the plant looks like before springing up a huge, long stalk as Summer sets in, as seen below.

See...It's so easy to identify and find out there in fields and meadows...except, maybe in Antarctica or the North Pole...?!?!?!?!

Well my friends...that about covers it for now...

Be safe and well during these troubling times of a Global Pandemic.

See ya soon...

Ciao

Gangsta rap🤮

UGH...!!!!! (Shitty poetry, set to shitty beats...)

Got this growing around me , looks like it a bit , it has silky leaves .. i scraped it from my list of possible plants for food . So this is of use one day to me , or is this a poisiones one that will burn my ass ? ;-)

It does resemble a type of Mullein I've seen, there are 'many' varieties of the plant. If that is a 'stalk' growing from out of the center (hard to see from angle of your shot) then it is most likely a Mullein and in it's 'second year' growth cycle (The first year it does not grow a stalk)

So keep an eye out for some of those plants to see if a center stalk grows and gets taller, with a tightly clustered 'green' bud on top opening up to blossom little yellow flowers.

Leaves and flowers can be used medicinally as well as a tea or crushed into a poultice to put on wounds (Has anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties) Tea can be taken internally to treat sore throat, stomach problems and lung problems.

Can be dried and smoked too...but treat it as a 'medicinal' herb internally...not for every day regular use like a nutritional herb. It does contain antioxidants though.

Test on your skin for allergic reaction if you are allergic to apples, peaches and stuff like that...by crushing a small amount to rub on your arm and wait to see if you get a reaction within half a day or not.

After you have identified it as mullein...a small piece of leaf chewed then spit out, will leave a kind of light tingling sensation on lips and gums (sort of like mint leaves) but don't ingest it unless you know for sure that it is Mullein.

I thanks you for all that fine info , and yes this grows in to a large stake , so ill test it like you suggested .
If it is , i am gonna be convid proof ;-)
Already am eating the flowers of the kings torches that grow in abundant around me , they taste like sweet candy . Later in the season i will try some of it's roots . They should taste like sweet potato when backed or cooked .

You're welcome...I'm happy to be helpful in ways that I am able :>)

Actually...Mullein may very well be helpful to anyone suffering the ills of Corona virus infection due to its medicinal properties. There are many herbs available to treat various illness and/or strengthen the immune system.

It grew fast in to this , indeed gives minty like tintle when i taste it . In the background i guess there are first year ones .
If you spot anything else usefull on this picture , i would love to know , oh wise one :-)

Wow...That stalk 'did' shoot up quickly...I think I see a 'Sheep Sorrel' leaf sticking up on the left side of the Mullein near the lower part of stalk. Here's a video below to help you.

Also, I see 'Irish Shamrock' (Wood Sorrel) that people can eat, but I think if you eat too much of it, the oxalates contained within can upset the stomach. I eat a little bit in Spring and Summer that I pick from my garden, mostly in a salad with other veges. or added as an addition to various cooked food :>)

Indeed it is sheep sorrel . Thks for the video and info .
I might become a old (angry)man after all one day .
So many healty things growing around me , why didn't they teach me this at school ? ... I asked many times , why am i at school ? , to become independant one day they said . I guess that was a lie .. ;-)

And yes Steem still is the easy to post on platform for now .. takes pictures directly from my phone . Have a look at the pic Hive missed ;-)

I like it...looks like a fine tool and weapon.

I use it mostly for clearing out weeds and stuff so i can make seeding plots , but yeah it also can protect me from wild life like jackals dogs and hogs . But i rather use my strong straight olive branch for that .
Will hiking a week ago some mean sheep herd dogs attacked me while protecting the herd , i turned around and shouted fuck all at them while waving my cane of peace . Its best to not inflict deep wounds on those kind of dump beasts , as they to have a purpose ;-)

Yes, I agree with not injuring or killing a 'working dog' acting aggressive to protect the flock or territory when wandering nearby. They usually are just attempting to warn you to 'leave'.

Here in Greece only dogs walk with a herd of sheep . no human shepard . And if you freeze in fear they will attack , even had some try to bite the tires of my car and jump the open window . And after the attack on me by foot some Greek passed the other way , i warned them , they already knew , one of them , a woman had her dress torn and ripped . The guy held rocks in his hands and the two woman had sticks with them . So when down here you hear sheep bells , be prepared for the worse . At night you can hear the jackals cry and howl .. I love it :-)

Yeah...I know there are different temperaments of 'guard dogs' which necessitate extreme caution and readiness. Some owners do not properly 'train' their animals, putting innocent people at risk or innocent people needing to hurt the animal that attacks.

I 'love' animals and prefer a mostly, non-meat diet as well, but would not be hesitant to kill one if the need existed for protection.

yeah, the photos not working on Hive is annoying. In the discord they have stated many times they are aware of it and are working on it.

SPAM! that stuff is actually pretty good and I don't care what anyone else says. I like it!

Thanks for the info about Hive Devs being aware of the problem with photo uploads, GoodDream…

Ha! I grew up being served Spam in a variety of ways. As our family grew & grew and my father lost income due to illness, we became financially poor. Spam was much cheaper to buy in place of most other meat products, so mom used it to add protein and variety to meals.

I still crave it occasionally, and since my dietary habits these days is predominantly Lacto-Ovo in nature, I 'sneak' Spam into my mouth once-in-awhile just to satisfy a lingering urge. I'm not the 'fanatical' type, so the 'guilt factor' is easy to overcome :>)

Hope all is well with you in Viet Nam; it certainly has been growing in popularity for many reasons these days. I'm so happy the Vietnamese people are experiencing continuous, peaceful growth as a Nation.
