Abusing Motivation

The moment you abuse something, it loses its appeal almost immediately. It becomes degraded and weakened. New Year’s Resolutions tends to abuse motivation. Motivation as we all know has a temporary nature while New Year’s Resolutions are more of long-term goals. Follow through and you would discover why this is a problem later. Motivation exacts a profoundly negative effect on our lives whenever we abuse it. Unlike other failures, a kind of failure to achieve a certain goal which is motivation based would do much more harm than good, reason been that it's not something we naturally learn from easily. It is the evidence in our minds which we do not have exactly it requires to be the person we want to be, but thoughtfully, this is in no regards true but it remains difficult to believe in yourself after some repeated internal failure.

A mind that's newly motivated tends to considers some previous instances of motivation and the results which came out of it. Just picture a person who has a success rate of ninety five percent (95%) whenever he or she is motivated to do something. At ninety five percent (95%), the motivation is strong, this is due to the fact that the perceived tendency of success is at a very high rate; now, let's replace it with about twenty percent 20% success rate – you'd notice that motivation would suffer.

Motivation and Cannibalism

You could say that motivation is a cannibal which feeds upon itself and then works best when it works.

That could be really confusing to read. I will explain this, this way.

Probable conditions of success are the best time when created. Put differently, you shouldn't be motivated to lose fifty pounds (50)pounds, rather you should be motivated to lose two (2) pounds. If you ever think that this is a small difference, then I please with you to please reconsider this for your own good. This is how each one often turns out:

The very reason why the smaller goal-setter continues to go on is due to the fact that he did not have to continue re-motivating him or herself for the same goal. This could be very tiring and at the same time extremely difficult to carry out, especially if it's for some lofty goals. Rather, such person motivated him or herself for goals which was already was perceived to be able to complete. Each one of the of the twenty three (23) goal intervals on the way to two hundred and sixty (260) was eventually met with a much greater feeling of success. This individual's motivation for the next goal fed off of his results for the previous goals ( that's cannibalism). This individual knew exactly when to expect success the moment he set a goal, and it brough excitement to him.

Endeavour to be extremely careful with motivation. Motivation could be extremely powerful when used effectively and also a major drain when it is used ineffectively. It is very good to set challenging goals, this is due to the fact that the sense of accomplishment that comes with it is greater. At different points in time, you need to yourself, but try not to overdo push. If you push yourself too hard and then you fail once, you have the support of succeeding with the rest of the twenty five (25) others. But the moment you make just one big goal a year and fail at it, that is enough to pounds your confidence way deep into the ground.

What I have seen from my social network accounts is that people who are the least successful tend to post more motivational phrases than people who are, in my experience. It's good to read, write or be in contact with motivational phrases once in a while to get you back on track, but the moment you start using them every day, I think it is a sign that something is wrong and instead of trying to fix it you rely on motivational phrases, thus abusing them.

Thank you for the reflection, it made me think about the issue.
