I began searching for a block chain social media site knowing that is going to be the next thing for Social Media. While watching a video on @pressfortruth youtube page I was introduced to Steemit through his video. It took me a couple of weeks to decide whether or not to sign up as I thought this is too good to be true. Well here I am, a couple of weeks later and have an account on Steemit. I am looking forward to all of the endeavours this communities gets involved with on this site.

I am an Inuk living in the High Arctic of Northern Canada in a place called Cambridge Bay, a place I love to call home. I am in my late 30's, have a full time job, a common-law wife, two son's and a dog named Riley. While uncommon in our area, my common-law wife and I have purchased our own home at a very young age. We were living in social public housing before we purchased our home and the rent was astronomical. We are rocking the mortgage thing since we have decided to take that route and are very proud to say so.

I work for a non-profit organization that administers the land claims agreement between the Government of Canada and the Nunavut Tunngavik Incorporated. The organization that I work for is a baby organization to the Nunavut Tunngavik Incorporated called the Kitikmeot Inuit Association. We administer the land claims agreement on behalf of Nunavut Tunngavik Incorporated for our region of the territory. I am the Communications Coordinator for the Kitikmeot Inuit Association taking care of our public relations duties within the organization. I also sit on a few boards within our Territory of Nunavut in Canada's High Arctic such as the Inuit Broadcasting Society, TV Nunavut Educational Broadcast Society & Nunavut Film Development Corporation.

Welcome to the Steemit community. Good for you for getting your own place and working for such a worthy cause. Sounds like you have a passion for making the world a better place.

I joined Steemit mostly because I love to write and enjoy quality content. But it also has become a way for me to work through the grieving process since the sudden and unexpected loss of my husband about 4 months ago.

I’d like to suggest you check out @wwf posts. He’s a fellow Canadian and full of wisdom. He’s helped in so many ways.

Best of luck.

Thank you @firststeps for sharing my work. @anoninuk, welcome to Steemit! If you want some tips and tricks, I wrote a post for new users a few weeks back with links to other posts, tools, etc. Feel free to look it over and good luck on building successful relationships here on steemit!

welcome to steemit @anoninuk wish you to earn a lot

Thank you for the welcome @headcorner, I hope you earn a lot also.

Hello Inuk and welcome to Steemit! Like you, I had to wait a few weeks but now I'm here, I want to use it all the time. It's a truly great platform and I'm sure you will love using it!

Sounds like you're very active in Canada so keep it up, always good to do as much as you can :)

I'm a music producer from the UK, I like to travel and write a lot too (as you can tell). I studied Materials Science and got a PhD back in 2014, now I'm in the cold harsh world of Sales (somehow), selling material testing equipment which involves a lot of travel up and down the country but it's only a temporary solution methinks!

Anyway, enjoy using the platform!

Thank you @nickyhavey for the welcome to Steemit, I look forward to exploring and using this platform.

My father has been my role model all of my life so I try to stay as active as he has and still is. He has helped our community, territory and country tremendously throughout his career and leaves huge shoes to fill. I don't intend to fill those shoes but may tread along side his trail, leaving room for my own personal growth and contributions.

Anyways, thanks for the welcome and I look forward to using this platform

<3 Welcome to our community Inuk! <3 Lovely post as well.

Hi @anoninuk ! Congratulations on buying a place. I am also a Canadian and I live in the Vancouver area. I haven't met very many people who live as north as you. It sounds like the organization you work for does a lot of work for Nunavut eh? I am itiscalebjames and I write and vlog about what is going on in my life. My wife is finally pregnant after 3 miscarriages and she is currently 10 weeks and 2 days pregnant. I also write about my struggles with depression too.

Hi @itiscalebjames thanks for the congrats. Not to many people have met people who live as far as we do, we are very isolated way up here. Our organization does do a lot for our territory and beneficiaries of our land claims agreement. I like to write about what is going on in my life also. I am sorry to hear of your wife's previous miscarriages but am pleased to hear of your two's current pregnancy.
