CRYPTO ACADEMY SEASON 3: BEGINNER'S COURSE - HOMEWORK POST FOR TASK 3: CRYPTOCURRENCY.
CRYPTOCURRENCY
Cryptocurrencies are made possible by the use of a technology called blockchain. Blockchain is a decentralized technology that manages and record the transactions done with the currency using it. One very importance of the technology is its security.
HISTORY OF CRYPTOCURRENCY
The history of cryptocurrency dates back to decades ago when cryptography began to make digital advances. This is the technology that has played a big role in the development of varieties of encryption techniques which makes the cryptocurrency networks to be secure and more reliable to take carry out different transactions.
Bitcoin was the first ever cryptocurrency to be launched. The genesis block of the cryptocurrency was created in 2009 and ever since that time, numerous cryptocurrencies have emerged.
Before the emergence of Bitcoin, a cypherpunk known as Nick SZABO published a blog post in 2005 making some hypothesis about a digital currency that he termed as "Bitgold" that would not rely on the trust of any third party. This was a big development because there was no cryptocurrency by that time, it was even referenced in the Bitcoin whitepaper.
HOW I WOULD LIKE TO SEE CRYPTOCURRENCY IN THE FUTURE.
I would like to see a big change in cryptocurrency in the future as institutional as new developments Continue to flood the cryptocurrency world.
I will also like to see a verified exchange traded fund (ETF) which would definitely make it easier for investors to invest in Bitcoin.
One of the things deterring people from the cryptocurrency world is the fact that your digital investment can be erased completely by a single computer crash, hackers can also ransack a virtual vault and cause to lose your investment. I will like to see more improvement in this area. In the future, I want to see more technological advances that will put an end to the work of hackers in the cryptocurrency world.
I would also like to see cryptocurrencies that will be more mathematically complex (to avert fraudulent activities and hacking attempts) but still very easy for users to understand. It should also be more decentralized but with adequate user security and protection such that it will preserve user anonymity without turning out to be a conduit for tax evasion, money laundering or many other fraudulent activities.
