FOOTBALLCONTEST: MY FAVORITE LEAGUE IN FOOTBALL - THE ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE.
MY FAVORITE FOOTBALL LEAGUE; THE ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE.
One thing that is common to all the Football leagues around is the marathon involved in it because you have to play all other teams in the league, but it is more entertaining when all the teams are very competitive, the marathon will be more interesting.
This is the case of the English premier league where a team struggling to survive relegation can beat a team contesting for the league title.

HISTORY OF THE PREMIER LEAGUE
Before I go into the reasons why I prefer the English premier league over all other leagues, let me quickly share a little history of the Premier league.
The league was founded as the Football Association Premier League on 20th February, 1992 following the decision of teams to break away from the previous League that was called the Football League. This was because the clubs wanted to have the right to negotiate and benefit financially from broadcast and sponsorship agreements.
WHY I PREFER THE ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE
There are so many reasons why I prefer the English premier league over all other leagues in the world. These reasons range from the competition to the glamour and the fans. Here are some of the reasons I prefer the English premier league.
COMPETITION
When you are talking about a league, I can tell you that you are synonymously talking about competition. Unlike some other leagues where a team or two will dominate it every year, the premier league in England is very competitive and you definitely cannot have clue of the team that will win the league until the final weeks of the tournament. This have been seen in the past years as the league has been won by five different teams in the last ten years. This makes the Premier league far more competitive that has been won by one or two teams for nine or ten years in a row.
Apart from the battle for the league winners, the battle for the teams that will qualify for the European tournaments (Champions League and the Europa league) is always a different thing entirely. Since almost every team in the league is competitive, then any team missing out on the league title lately will not want to miss the chance of featuring in one of the available International club competitions, this is always leading to a fierce battle between teams in the league and this was also seen last season as Liverpool, Chelsea and even Leicester City battled for the final two champions league spots in the final day.
GLAMOUR AND FANS
The English premier league is definitely one of the most glamorous leagues in the world if not the most glamorous. Many people Support their teams with a lot of passion and you could see this is those big fixtures or derbies.
The fans are another different factor when it comes to League matches. Apart from the fact that the Corona virus pandemic has restricted the physical presence of fans in stadia when live matches are going on, you could see a large number of fans in the stadium to support their teams.
When a goal is scored, then you will see the massive celebration among these football fans. This might be something common to all other leagues, but it is more special in the Premier league especially with their chants and their reaction to missed chances or scored goals.
CORPORATIVE STRUCTURE
Unlike some other where there is a lot of Monopoly, the Football Association Premier League Ltd is the body controlling most of the affairs of the league and the executive board of this is made up of the representatives of each of the twenty clubs playing in the league that season. These club representatives will always vote on matters like new rules and regulations.
In reality, this corporative structure has helped the league in maintaining an unbiased nature. This is one of the reasons I like the English premier league because this corporative structure has led to several reviews of the things that happened during a particular match that looked like there was an infringement. We have also witnessed some red cards or suspension being overturned, leaving the league very interesting.
RIVALRY
Sometimes the rivalry might get too fierce, but trust me, football will be less interesting without it. This is one or the major characteristics of the English premier league as teams have always been rivals to others.
This has mostly been amplified by the fact that we always see many derby matches in the league such as the London derby between the London based clubs like Arsenal, Chelsea, Fulham, West Ham, and Tottenham Hotspurs, the north London derby between Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspurs, the Manchester derby between Manchester United and Manchester city, and the Merseyside derby between Everton and Liverpool.
When these teams meet in these derbies, they play with all their strength for the bragging rights irrespective of their pedigree or current form.
CONCLUSION
The Premier league is the most-watched sport League in ther world and it is broadcasted to many territories, this has helped keep everybody anywhere in the world updated about the league. The British media houses have also promoted the league in a wonderful way, makitit very visible on the internet.

Great reasons for liking the epl. It is certainly very well structured and each year is full of surprises. I really like the rivalry too. There is no greater thing than two rivals going at each other. haha
