My favorite travel destination was (Lafia, Nasarawa state)

Hello friends from home and abroad, warm regards to everyone; I'm Anthony from Nigeria, and it's a pleasure to have you on my post; I'm engaging in this week's amazing dynamic titled: "My favorite travel destination" organized by @mdkamran99.

✅ Have you traveled to any special places? Describe the place you visited.

Yes, of course, I have traveled to a special place known as Lafia, the of Nasarawa state; Lafia is located in the northern part of Nigeria and is known as the middle belt (north central). I came to Lafia some months ago but I would say that I know the place very well, I never thought I would be in Lafia today because of how far it is from where I ventured from (South), not until I gained admission in the Federal University of Lafia I was so happy that I will travel to North for the first time when coming then I passed through Benue State before reaching Lafia, and it was my first time of viewing the mighty River Benue, regardless Lafia is so special their good roads, schools, and the people innit, Lafia is a hidden gem waiting to be explored.

✅ Who did you visit this special place with?

My elder sister and I

I came to Lafia with my siblings, my elder sister, and my younger brother my little bro was always happy to be in a new location, when we were venturing to Lafia my little bro couldn't resist seeing all the beautiful places he hadn't seen before, and he was too eager to see the river Benue and became phobia cos of how wide is the river seen from top of the bridge.

✅ What makes the place you travel so special?

  • People

I would say the people in Lafia are behind what makes the place special. There's love over here, lovely people that welcome everyone with a kind heart. They love connecting with people to spread love.

  • The Transportation

Regardless of the fuel price in Nigeria, transportation is quite cheaper than in the south, and there are very good roads, there Keke napep every.

  • Schools and Electricity

Not everyone here can afford school bills despite the that they still have a lot of unique schools in Lafia, and their electricity here is topnotch, I'm a person that barely stays a day without using my phone and when I use it, it runs out of power but since I can to Lafia my phone has been always powered.

This city, often overlooked by tourists, boasts a rich cultural heritage and breathtaking natural attractions.

✅ Have you traveled to this location before? How did you feel when visiting this place?

I have never been in this location before, and I never dreamt of coming to the Northern part of Nigeria, although I'm enjoying my stay here the two reasons I don't like the location are;

  • The Temperature

The temperature from the sun is intensely hot, and I'm not used to it. I barely go out in the afternoon because of the sun. Secondly is.

  • Communication

In the northern part of Nigeria, the general language is known as Hausa, not everyone knows how to speak English or our local language called pidgin, so I find it hard when communicating with someone, especially Okada men and Keke napep riders when I want to go out they barely understand want I'm saying, nevertheless I'm working on myself on learning Hausa. Communication is what connects people together, the speaker and the listener; there's no communication between a listener/receiver, and that is why it's crucial in society.

✅ Give a short review of your particular travel destination

The city of Lafia has many must-visit attractions like the

  • Lafia Stadium a 10,000-capacity stadium
  • The Akiri Warm Spring
  • The Lafia City Mall
