Your Personal Power: Cultivating and Sustaining It

in #lifelast year

Your Personal Power is a mindset that drives you to do the things you want to achieve in life. It’s the energy that empowers you to work harder, get what you want, become an authority in your field, and live a happier life.

When you cultivate your personal power and let it thrive, you begin to see results that support this new mindset. You feel good about yourself, your body feels stronger, and your mood is lifted. You feel more confident and you’re driven to take action towards achieving your goals.

In this article, I’ll show you how to start cultivating your personal power and keep it alive in the long run. Let’s dive in!

Step 1: Cultivate a Self-Confident Attitude

It’s important to first understand that your personal power isn’t something that you can force yourself to become; it’s something that you can cultivate over time.

Think back to the last time you felt 100% confident. Perhaps it was when you received that award, when you nailed your presentation, or when you hit a home run. Whatever the case may be, it was something you were aware of, even if it was only for a moment.

Your personal power is the same thing; it’s a mindset that you can develop, and it’s always there.

Think about the last time you met a new person. Was there something about them that made you feel confident and self-assured?

It wasn’t their personality or looks - it was because they were confident. They didn’t make you feel uncomfortable or afraid. Their presence gave you confidence, regardless of whether you were speaking with them or not.

Let’s imagine that you were in a meeting today and the other participants seemed to be confident. Even though they’re the ones that matter, would you feel comfortable? Would you feel comfortable speaking up in that room, taking control, and contributing to the conversation?

Of course not! The fact is, you would feel uncomfortable, insecure, and nervous because you weren’t confident.

Why is that?

You didn’t have any reason to believe that the other people there would be a safe pair of hands for you. That they wouldn’t steal your ideas, laugh at you, or humiliate you. That they wouldn’t make fun of your mistakes or tell you what you’re doing wrong.

On the contrary, you would worry that they might judge you, that they’d see you as stupid and incompetent, that you’d be a failure. You would feel threatened because you weren’t confident in your ability to contribute.

In short, you would have a negative mindset. This is the opposite of a positive mindset. A positive mindset is the exact opposite of a negative mindset.
