Pletetan grass flowers or mletek

Pletetan grass plant is one of the natural wonders or can be said as Amazing Nature
In our area, this grass flower is very well known as grass pletetan or in other languages it is called mletek, the purpose of pletetan or mletek is the sound produced by this wild grass flower.
The sound of pletetan or mletek is produced from the eruption of flowers if you clamp it. So that children born in the 70-80s very often play with this flower.
Very cool indeed if playing with this wild plant because there is a uniqueness if we clamp it so it makes a sound like "pletek ..." then based on this that makes the children really like to play with this plant.
How to blow it up !
In my experience as a child in 1980, very often pressed the seeds so that it would emit a sound that resembled gunfire in 1945 or our community called the guns of the Company.
But there is a very easy way to ring it by taking this old flower pletetan usually purple in the picture and then soak it in water then wait a few moments then you will listen to its unique distinctive sound as described above.

Why did he (flower) explode ?
As explained above why this flower can explode? This was answered when I personally when I was a 7th grade student in junior high school, my biology teacher explained that in pletekan plants there are some chemical substances such as saponins, flavonoids and polyphenols. So this plant is often used by certain people in concocting something that requires an explosion. In addition the influence of these substances has the usual benefits for human health.
