One is Vodafone India and Idea

Indian telecom and digital service providers Vodafone India and Idea Cellular are going to be one. The activities of the merged company may start by April 2018.

It is the largest number of telecom operators in India. With the number of customers, India's top cellular operator Bharti Airtel will be behind the new company. Currently, Vodafone India and Idea Cellular are the second and third largest cellphone operators in India, according to the number of subscribers.

On Jan 12, the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) has approved the proposal for the integration of Vodafone and Idea.

In March last year, discussions were concluded between UK-based Vodafone and Aditya Birla Group Idea Cellular Limited. The primary agreement between the two companies was also discussed at this time.

Vodafone will hold 45.1 percent of the new company, Aditya Birla Group's Idea Cellular will have 26 percent stake. However, through the payment of Rs 3,874 crore, the new operators will be able to take control of 4.9 percent shares. Other share holders will control the remaining 28.9 percent.

According to India Ratings and Research, after the integration of Vodafone and Idea, the company will earn revenue of about 77 thousand 500 to 80 thousand rupees.

Recently, the telecom sector of India has become increasingly contestant. Reliance Geo Infocomm in the market has become difficult to survive in the competition due to various services and free services for other operators.
