About Graphic Desain.

In my previous post, I explained what Graphic Design is, for those of you who haven't read it, you can read it here.

Because the Graphic Design Discussion is very broad, and not only fixated on what I teach, many things you see today are closely related to the world of graphic design, starting from the steemit logo, the steemit.app display and others as such, all of that is included in the field of graphic design in general

Graphic Design Principles and Elements

Like other design fields, in the world of graphic design, the principles are almost the same as other designs, such as:

  • Rhythm
  • Simplicity
  • Point of Interest or Emphasis
  • Proportion or unity
  • White space
  • Balance
  • Clarity

In graphic design, there are 10 design elements, including:

  • Balance
  • Contrast
  • Continuity
  • Repetition
  • Unity
  • Line
  • Forms & Space
  • Color
  • Type
  • Textures & Images

Graphic design app

There are numerous different types and categories of graphic design applications. However, just a few applications have become industry standards.

With the advancement of technology, you can now create using your smartphone; there are several apps that enable this task, such as the Canva app, Pixelab, Picsart, and many more.

However, the majority of Adobe software products are used by professional designers. because Adobe is extensively utilized as an industry standard in graphic design by a number of well-known firms

Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator are two examples.

On several of their platforms, well-known microstock firms for buying and selling vectors, templates, and illustrations, such as Shutterstock, Envato, and Freepik, require contributors to post files compatible with the Adobe Photoshop PSD format and Adobe Illustrator Ai format.

Despite the fact that both applications have become industry standards. However, this does not imply that only the two of them are the greatest. However, there are a number of additional uses that are equally as effective. CorelDRAW is one of them.

So, in preparation for the second lesson, I hope you have installed these three software on your computer.

Getting to Know RGB and CMYK Colors Used in Graphic Design

image.png

When we utilize graphic design software such as Photoshop, Illustrator, CorelDRAW, and so on, we will come across these two sorts of colors, namely RGB and CMYK.

What are RGB and CMYK?

RGB = Red, Green, and Blue
CMYK = Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black

RGB is a form of color created by light. RGB color is utilized on monitor screens for digital displays.

While CMYK color is a form of color created by printer ink. CMYK colors are appropriate for printing.

The RGB color space is larger than the CMYK color space.

When should RGB and CMYK be used?

If we simply wish to display it digitally, we may select the RGB color profile.

Meanwhile, if you want to develop a design that will only be printed on a printer, CMYK is the way to go.

Recognizing the Difference between Raster and Vector in Graphic Design

In graphic design, there are two sorts of pictures that are often employed. Specifically, raster and vector images.

Raster Image

A raster image is also known as a bitmap image.

Raster pictures will seem hazy and broken when zoomed in or magnified (blurred and the quality will decrease). Raster pictures, on the other hand, are ideal for showing pictures with extremely complex color combinations. For instance, in photography or digital painting. A raster image is an example format of:
JPEG, PNG, GIF, TIFF, RAW, and WEBP are all acceptable file formats.

What exactly are vector images?

When zoomed in or extended in resolution, vector pictures will not break, ensuring that the quality is retained (scalable). Vector pictures are ideal for use in drawings, logos, and print media.Example format of a vector image:

EPS,Ai, CDR,SVG,DFX

Understanding Pixels and Resolution in Graphic Design.

What is Pixel?

When we zoom in on a photo, the image becomes hazy. The closer we go to the maximum magnification, the more color boxes we'll notice.

Pixels are the name given to such color boxes.

Each pixel box has a single color. When all of the color squares are joined, it creates an optical illusion that our eyes recognize as a full image.

Resolution

The density of pixels is referred to as resolution. That is, the more pixels there are, the higher the resolution.

Because the number of pixels in a high-resolution photo or image is greater, it seems more detailed and crisp.

Conclusion

To become a professional graphic designer, you must first understand the concepts and fundamentals of design; you cannot design with your capital until you have learned the tools and software.

Graphic design, like other arts, incorporates aesthetics and ethics in its application, allowing you to produce pictures or designs with worth.
