PulTec EQP-1 - Pastel Sonic’s Gear ‘Gram
More gear! The PULTEC EQP-1. Post via Pastel Sonic, my new music production page on Instagram. If you need a beat, a mix, or help with songwriting or arrangement please leave a comment or hit me up on Instagram! I look forward to working with you.
In 1951, the first-ever passive equalizer was introduced to the market by Pulse Techniques. The EQP-1 is a straightforward piece of gear, with three frequency bands available to boost or cut - however, it also includes a tube-based makeup circuit to avert the 16dB level drop associated with pure passive EQ systems. Engineers and producers often attest that the EQ sounds so good, you don’t even need to use the EQ on a Pultec. Just running your signal through the unit will supposedly add a degree of “magic” that can’t be replicated.
